Description
Steve Biko Academic Hospital is a provincial hospital in Pretoria, Gauteng. The hospital is a training hospital for the University of Pretoria and does not see walk-in patients. Patients need to be referred by a clinic, hospital or private doctor – who needs to phone the hospital and make an appointment for the patient.
GETTING THERE
The hospital is located at the corner of Steve Biko and Malan Street, Capital Park in Pretoria in the Gauteng Province. Nearby main roads are the M8 to the North and the M5 to the East of the hospital.
PAYMENT
A person with an individual income of less than R36,000 per annum or from a household with a combined income of less than R50,000 per annum will pay R20 per consultation to see a Nursing Practitioner or Allied health practitioner, R25 to see a General Practitioner and R40 to see a specialist medical practitioner.
A person with an individual income of less than R72,000 per annum or from a household with a combined income of less than R100,000 per annum will pay R60 per consultation to see a Nursing Practitioner or Allied health practitioner, R75 to see a General Practitioner and R120 to see a specialist medical practitioner.
A person with an individual income of more than R72,000 per annum or from a household with a combined income of more than R100,000 per annum will pay R118 per consultation to see a Nursing Practitioner, R120 to see an Allied health practitioner, R148 to see a General Practitioner and R241 to see a specialist medical practitioner.
