Description

The Valley of the Waves is one of the most advanced water parks in the world and forms the centre of the Lost City at the Sun City Resort, in the North West province of South Africa. The Valley of the Waves is a tropical fantasyland where visitors can partake in a number of entertaining beach and water activities. The park’s main attraction is the manmade beach and ocean, surrounded by warm sand and palm trees, which includes artificial waves! Visitors can spend some time exploring the dense forests that surround the park, such as the Rain Forest, Baobab Forest, Jacaranda Forest, and Tropical Forest. The forests have rare plants, adventure paths, hidden caves, bridges, and waterfalls to explore along the way. The more adventurous can enjoy adrenaline rides such as The Temple of Courage, The Tarantula, The Scorpion, The Viper, and The Mamba, or spend some leisure time floating along The Lazy River. Other features include The Royal Bath, Observatory Bar, the Bridge of Time that erupts on the hour, and the Amphitheatre which hosts a variety of shows.

A varied food court offers lunches and quick snacks and there is a cocktail bar for refreshments. The park has well-equipped changing rooms as well as a locker service for personal items. A clinic is available to treat any medical emergencies, and there are lifeguards on duty throughout the day.
