Held at The Old Mill on the banks of the Magalies River, the Cellar Rats Spring Wine Festival offers event-goers a chance to celebrate the very first day of spring between 11h00 – 15h00 on 1 September 2013. Held as a fundraiser for the Woodland Preparatory School in Magaliesburg, the family friendly outdoor wine festival is held on a large country estate just 40 minutes away from Johannesburg’s northern suburbs.
The Cellar Rats Spring Wine Festival will feature over 110 wine producers and over 600 wines will be available for tastings. Event-goers can expect a day of fun in the sun and relaxing on shady green lawns as they savour some divine wines from prestigious wine producers.
Kids will be kept happily entertained with wide open lawns, a jumping castle, waterslide, and various other supervised activities. There will be plenty of snacks and refreshments on sale, but for those who wish to laze about on the lawns, picnic baskets will also be available for order. Options include a picnic for two adults, a vegetarian picnic, and a picnic for one child. You can purchase the picnic baskets along with your tickets at Computicket.
Please note that as the festival is a school fundraiser, no cooler boxes, braais, or picnic baskets will be permitted entry. What’s more, in a ploy to encourage responsible drinking, designated drivers will get free entry into the event!
