The much-anticipated Two Oceans Hermanus Whale Festival is a distinguished annual occasion that celebrates the return of the magnificent Southern Right Whales to the waters of Walker Bay and the arrival of the spring season. This year, the Two Oceans Hermanus Whale Festival will be marking its 22nd year as the only enviro-arts festival in South Africa between Friday, 20 – Tuesday, 24 September 2013.

Hermanus

The small coastal town of Hermanus, known as the best land-based whale watching destination in the world, bursts into life with thousands of visitors who flock to the town to enjoy the festivities of this prestigious event. During this time, accommodations open their doors, restaurants prepare excellent courses, and the residents of Hermanus open their hearts in warm welcome to visitors. While the whales are predominantly the star performers at the festival, they will be joined on land by quality entertainers and musicians, fantastic gourmet food experiences at various restaurants around Hermanus, and exciting activities and events for both the young and old.
