After a long, leisurely day around the pool, you climb wearily into your cave and settle down for a peaceful night, surrounded by blissful luxuries. And what could be more romantic than your very own secluded love nest? Whether you prefer a cave to sleep in or simply enjoy a tasty evening meal, we have two enticing accommodations with facilities nestled amongst natural rock!
Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve
Escape from mundane city life to Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve in the Cederberg Mountains, where you can take a step back in time to a place that was once home to Bushmen. Swap cell phones, noise pollution, highways, and city lights for blissful silence, intermitted only by crickets, and a clear sky where the lack of manmade lights allows for a magical view of the Milky Way. Today, many of the ancient cave paintings are still visible on the rocks, with some dating back as far as 6,000 years!
Your accommodation awaits within the sandstone formations of the mountains in the form of bushman “caves”. The 10 cave suites offer twin or king-sized beds, en-suite bathrooms, and private terraces. There are also 5 rondavels available for families and an open air camp where you can sleep under the stars! Dine on scrumptious South African fare at the open air boma restaurant, sip wine from the nearby Cape Winelands, relax around the swimming pool, indulge in spa treatments, and browse the curio shop for a souvenir of your special stay.
