The Sedgefield Slow Festival is a myriad of exciting events that are all about celebrating the great outdoors. From sandcastle competitions and a Miss Slow Fest beauty pageant, to food and wine pairing evenings, the Sedgefield Slow Festival promises a long weekend full of fun, sun, and excitement for the whole family. This year, the much anticipated Sedgefield Slow Festival will be taking place from 29 – 31 March 2013, over the Easter long weekend.
Events you can expect to see include a fun dog walk, mountain bike challenge, geo-treasure hunt, paragliding challenge, the Goukamma Traverse, and a Beer Pong Championship. Those along for the atmosphere will enjoy relaxing in the food and wine marquee, judging the “Anything that Floats” Competition, taking part in the music trivia evening, or enjoying tastings at the Raw Chocolate Workshop.
As the event is held over the Easter weekend, a special open air Sunrise Service will be held on Easter Sunday, as well as an Egg Dash and Easter Bunny Beach Fling for the kids. Other events include kite flying, a boules tournament, funky hair challenge, Potjiekos Competition, and an Amazing Creatures and Band Parade. Proceeds of the events go to local charities, schools, and organisations in need.
