"Beaufort West itself might not have that much to offer, but the surrounding area has so many hidden attractions that a few extra days are well worth it."
"Ongelooflike lekker kos by Lazy Lizard! Moenie voor 8uur probeer brandstof ingooi nie, alles is toe!"
"A little town with as much and as little to do as you want to.....also recommend the Swartberg pass."
"Prince Albert is a delightful town full of warm-hearted, friendly locals who have time for a chat. I loved the big art gallery and public library. I went to their Saturday market and enjoyed meeting the stall owners and supporting them. I attended a writing course with Daniel Dercksen, which I enjoyed tremendously. The dairy in town was a fascinating find. One night I had dinner at the Karoo Cafe and what an experience it was. Excellent food. I hear some present cookery courses and art courses too. The Lazy Lizard is a jewel in this Karoo town! The range of products she stocks and the bakery goods (breads, pastries and cakes) are absolutely delicious! I brought a carrot cake home with me. Her cheesecake is superb too! I can understand why so many people settle in Prince Albert. It is a perfect town. Close to George, Oudshoorn and Cape Town. A peaceful, safe place to put down roots."
"Matjiesfontein is a quaint and interesting place to visit. Would reccomend it. The reserve itself is a fynbos reserve and offers 4x4 excursions. The reserve is not close to Matjiesfontein."
Hierbewens is Merweville as dorp goed versorg, baie netjies en skoon.
