"Mooi dorpie.
"Nieu-Bethesda is an interesting place, especially the visit to the Owl House and a few years we went with a guide down to the river to see the fossils. We only had time to visit the owl house this time. I must say the dinner we had at Furrows Lodge was really great."
"My only real complaint was that I was not informed that the tar road leading off the N9 to Nieu Bethesda, was closed. This meant travelling up the N9 a further 20 km and then driving on a not-so-good dirt road a further 35 km. Apparently, the tar road should be re-opened by the end of May 2023."
"A most interesting village with so much heritage to explore that will lead to repeat visits."
"A beautiful little town where you can still see the stars. We loved the dirt roads and the old buildings."
"Lovely quaint village. We had a personal tour of the church which was a bonus. Definitely a repeat destination."
"A lot of very interesting places to visit, and you can walk to them all. Town people are also very friendly."
"Pragtige dorpie in 'n baie mooi omgewing. Sal weer daar besoek gaan af lê. Uilhuis-besoek was baie interessant."
"Beautiful little town with friendly and hospitable people. Great to visit. We only came to visit the Owl House (which is worth the drive by itself) but were pleasantly surprised with all that is available in this little treasure of a town. We ate the most delicious Karoo Lamb Curry at the Village Inn Restaurant which is open all week in spite of the off-season where most restaurants are only open on selected days. Boetie's Pub is right adjacent to the restaurant and is a very popular spot for people to get to know the local people and learn about the area. This town is a real jewel nestled between the mountains."
"It is really off the beaten track - a quaint little town in the middle of nowhere. If you're going for activities, there are a few, but if you're heading there for rest and relaxation, that is what you'll get - peace and quiet. No malls, no gas station, no open restaurants apart from some early in the morning and others later in the evening."
"Besonderse klein Karoo-dorpie.
