Quiet, peaceful, value for money. Our stay was incredible. We could walk to wherever we wanted to be. Really good value for money. Our hostess was amazing. Will definitely come back and recommend Stones Throw Cottages to anyone wanting a peaceful, quiet getaway.

Very peaceful, cosy and great mountain view. I had a great stay at a stone's throw cottage. Beautiful mountain views and the cottage was nice and cosy. I will definitely go soon again.

Terrible experience. What a terrible experience. The location and accommodation were lovely (except for the fact that there were no blinds or curtains to cover the sliding doors and glass front of the house, making you feel exposed), but all of this was rendered null and void by the poor level of service received from the host. Upon arrival, the place was in a complete mess, as it had not been cleaned after the last guests had left. I called the website as it seemed that people were still staying there. The host did apologize multiple times, but it did not seem sincere at all, as she kept complaining that she had to clean because she couldn’t get hold of the cleaner. She also mentioned that she was not feeling well, but this is not an acceptable excuse. Shockingly, she even cursed at the website representative on the phone, claiming that they hadn’t informed her that guests were arriving. I find this hard to believe, as we always receive constant communication from the website. We did not feel welcome at all. In fact, we were made to feel as though our presence was a burden. We waited in the driveway, in the car, while she cleaned, as we had arrived after 4 PM. After she finished cleaning and told us we could enter, I checked the place again and saw that the inside of the fridge had still not been cleaned—there was half-eaten fish and chips, among other things. I called to her over the fence, and her response was, “Oh God, what now?” When I told her there were still things in the fridge, she handed a packet over the high fence and said, "Just put it in there. It's not a big deal. I tried my best." Her "best" was not good enough. My family did not feel comfortable for the entire stay. We wanted to leave but were forced to stay as no suitable alternative could be provided, and we were expected to pay extra to be relocated. I would not recommend this place.

Charming and cozy cottage with a wonderful host. A Stones Throw Cottage was exactly what we were looking for. It was the most beautiful little cottage, clean, tidy and the most perfect host, always at the end of the phone if we had any queries. This was our first time travelling to South Africa and we felt very safe in the area, and it was ideally located. A Stones Throw Cottage was in a quiet location and only a 5-minute walk to the shops and beach. If you are looking to stay in Fish Hoek, I would highly recommend staying at A Stones Throw Cottage.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Clean, central, safe. Very nice cottage close to the beach and grocery stores. We felt at home and safe from the beginning. Very good communication with the owner. Price/value is unbeatable.
