Ayama Wine Farm - Manor House & Cottage

Warm welcome, charming stay, great pool, self-serve wine, delicious breakfast.

We received a very warm welcome at this winery. The accommodation is charming and full of character. A lovely swimming pool with sun loungers is ready for you to enjoy. In the common area, you can grab a bottle of wine, note it down, and relax on the terrace with a stunning view. Breakfast was delicious and more than sufficient. You can also enjoy a tasty Italian lunch on-site, paired with a wine tasting. And all of it is very affordable. You can take a beautiful walk on the estate, wandering among the olive trees and vineyards.

Beautiful and unique Cape farm stay.

This is a great, authentic Italian-style farm, rustic and clearly not like the usual grandiose Cape wine farms that have manicured gardens and perfect paving. The manor house is beautiful and decorated like a classic Italian house would be (paintings, furniture, etc.) - not modern. Breakfasts are great and the staff is super friendly.

Lovely home feel.

We loved staying here, it was lovely and quiet and had a homely feel to it. Our daughters especially loved the swimming pool and pool table. Breakfast was lovely too, thank you so much!

The best stay we had in the winelands.

This was by far the best value stay we had on our trip. The family room in the old manor house was perfect and the kids loved the large, clean pool. It is a working farm and we had a wonderful lunch on the terrace with ingredients sourced from the farm. The wines could stand out on their own, but this whole experience was wonderful. Safe, friendly and welcoming.

We had a lovely stay, beautiful place in a beautiful area. Nice rooms and a warm welcome with a free wine tasting! Also, the pool was lekker. And the donkeys are very cute .

Baie mooi plaas en huis. Ons het lekker geswem en gaan stap. Net jammer die advertensie het verkeerdelik 'n koning grootte bed aangedui (dit was slegs 'n dubbelbed).

Mouthwatering food and wine experience paired with excellent hospitality.

Incredibly well-run establishment with staff that make the experience all the better. The food was excellent and well priced. The cottage we stayed in was great and welcoming. Overall, a great stay for us and the kids. Chrissie, Chane, and Margie were brilliant and accommodating. The farm restaurant was an awesome experience offering a touch of authentic Italian cooking with simple, fresh, farm-grown ingredients priced reasonably.

Peaceful retreat with all comfort of a manor house - better than the pics.

Our stay was perfect! The place is fantastic, everyone is very friendly, breakfast tasty and the wine is great. The house is extremely comfortable and extra clean. Views are idyllic, just like a dream. Would book this place again a million times and recommend it to everyone.

If you never come here, you are missing out on a first class stay. Everything is excellent, and the wine is delicious.

Very warm, pleasant and hospitable experience.

Very comfortable, clean and modern rooms. The manor house has an old-world feel but is very clean, bright and open. The braai facilities were good - braai wood, firelighters, grid, tongs, etc. all provided. The wine is excellent from the blanc to rouge - a good variety of Italian varietals, all made by a very capable Italian winemaker. A good personal experience. Breakfast was very good. The host was hospitable. Nice and quiet.

Amazing experience.

The location and staff at Ayama Manor House deserve more than 5 stars. The location is great. Very tranquil and relaxing; it's like you're hours out of the city when in reality you're about 20/30 minutes away from the hustle and bustle. The team at Ayama were friendly and helpful; the service was efficient and professional.

Get ready to be transformed to another world!

Wow wow wow is all that comes to mind. From the moment you enter, it is as if you are transformed to another world. The surroundings are so beautiful, and they go out of their way to make you feel special. The rooms were spotless, as is the rest of the house. The wine tasting with the host is a must, and we thoroughly enjoyed the company. Sadly, we did not get a chance to visit their restaurant but had breakfast in the manor. Next time we will definitely visit the restaurant as the menu looked divine!

Carignan kamer was perfek. Lekker geswem en gebraai. Ontbyt was baie lekker.

Hartlik, verwelkomend, pragtig.

Ons is baie hartlik ontvang en met die aankoms was ons kamer reeds lekker warm gemaak. Ayama is geleë in 'n pragtige deel van die Boland met uitsigte oor die berge. Ek sal net volgende keer my eie kussing saamneem (wat seker waar is van die meeste 'vreemde' beddens). 'n Heerlike verrassing was die komplementeêre wynproe bewys! Ons het lekker gekuier, baie dankie!

Dankie, ons het baie lekker gekuier. Baie gasvrye mense en die wynproe was uitstekend. Jul vriend, ons het hom Piet gedoop, was baie oulik, goeie kennis en vriendelik gewees.

Very comfortable and happy weekend away with friends.

Charming manor house with friendly and hospitable hosts. Very well appointed, lots of braai wood and equipment. Our stay was a very happy and contented one.

Well worth a visit of one or even two nights.

Delightful staff, very comfortable room, good breakfast. Only the Jacuzzi was disappointing. Too large for the amount of hot water available and the tap situated on the far side meant you had to get into the pool to let water in.

We quite enjoyed it.

The location is great and the place is well maintained. The food and service at the restaurant were good, and we enjoyed the wine tasting and, of course, the wine. Breakfast was not great - we waited about 30 minutes to be served after we had arranged a specific time for breakfast the day before. What was really disappointing was to be served sandwich brown bread (no other options) at a farm owned by Italians - surely a proper Italian-style bread would have made such a difference!

Wonderful stayover in an old world exquisite manor house.

All very neat, clean and great service. Very chilled farm vibes and great views. Hospitable owners have really created something special.

Pragtige plaas en gasvrye span. Ons het 'n heerlike tyd gehad en sal beslis weer terug wees volgende jaar om te pluk!

Ayama Manor House was our accommodation when attending a wedding in Wellington.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating for our request to check in earlier. Ayama Manor House was an ideal destination for a one-night sleepover. If you plan to stay longer, note that there is no hanging space for clothes in the 2 rooms that we occupied. It could be a problem if you want to stay longer. The staff is super friendly and overall lovely.

Rare find.

We had a great stay. The room was small, but it had everything we needed for the one night. Breakfast was amazing and we were very impressed with all the effort. The wine tasting and restaurant are amazing and the wine is fantastic. This is a hidden gem and I am so glad we found it.

It was lovely, we enjoyed everything about our stay. The staff was friendly and kind. Thank you.

Interacting with the animals on the farm was so much fun, it was great that we had the house to ourselves, and our daughter enjoyed the freedom.
