Amazing.

Stay was amazing, rooms were cleaned and every day staff would come and clean the rooms and ensure our cups are clean.

Comfortable room with all the necessities. Hospitable reception.

Was 'n baie lekker plek om te bly. Het veilig gevoel toe ek die aand by die huis kom. Alles was netjies en skoon en die kliëntediens was baie goed. Baie goeie ligging ook.

Personeel was vriendelik en die gastehuis baie netjies.

Ons het slegs oornag, maar dit was heerlik om op 'n gemaklike bed, na 'n lekker stort voor die lugversorger te ontspan.

Kamers is goed toegerus, behalwe vir die haardroeër, pak maar jou eie in. Ontbyt kan aangevra word teen 'n addisionele koste. Vriendelike diens met skoon, stylvolle kamers. Oulike plekkie wat ek vir 'n week lank 'huis' kon noem. Ek sal beslis weer Barklystraat Gastehuis ondersteun.

The place is beautiful and serene, suitable for couples. I enjoyed my short stay and the host was exceptionally marvellous and extremely friendly. I highly recommend the place and will definitely go back again.

We were greeted by friendly staff, who went out of their way to assist us. Very neat, clean room - exactly as advertised. Centrally located, in close proximity to shops. Will definitely use Barklystraat Gastehuis again!

Great experience and value for money.

I had to remind one of the staff members to wear their mask. I also don't recall any of the other guests wearing masks. WIFI was out of order for the first day due to load-shedding related damage to the router, but it was promptly fixed by the next day. Once fixed, I found the WIFI fast enough for video calls. Also if you have a problem with second-hand smoke, I advise against this establishment as not far from my room, there's a smoking area that was thoroughly enjoyed by other guests at night, and the smoke seemed to get through my closed door and windows. Bedside-table lamps were not functional, but I'm sure that would have been rectified very quickly had I brought it up. Also, I suggest that given that Uitenhage is a drought-affected area, please put up signs that communicate this. On a whole though, and aside from the "mask" incident, I felt safe during my stay, and the parking seemed very secure. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Thank you.

Barklystraat Gastehuis se personeel is vriendelik en behulpsaam. Die gastehuis is sentraal gelee, naby eetplekke en in 'n boomryke area. Ons kamer was netjies, skoon en modern. Ek en my tienerdogter moes vroeg-oggend en laat-aand na ons bestemmings ry, maar het veilig gevoel.
