I thought I was at the wrong place. I wanted to turn around and leave. We were there for our anniversary! It looked dirty and rundown even from the road. Definitely too expensive. Run-down, disgusting, looks like a worker's dwelling. Dirty: dead flies in fridge, the ice tray was full of grime just to name a few cases. Pillows on the sofa were dirty and smelled bad. Towels are disgusting. I am grateful that we took our own along. Cobwebs in the corner. No plug for the kitchen sink. Pots are rusted. Are the units inspected? The pots were dirty, bedding too. We were almost too scared to sleep on the beds. A double bed would've been nice. It's mostly couples staying here. But the whole setup in the room is laughable. No privacy. No curtains in the house, except in the bedroom since the other house is on top of this one! The place is falling to pieces: the front door, grout in bathroom, basin is busy falling off the wall. Absolutely run-down. Taps in the bathroom are grimy. Mouse droppings in bed. Geyser is faulty, water is hot for only 30 seconds. Had to put the water on about 40 times for a drop of bathwater and then boil the rest on the stove. And only 2 stove plates work. The toilet doesn't work properly. I had to pour water in at the top. If they allow people in the other cottage to bring a dog, they should let you know as there is no fence and a barking dog is unacceptable. The dog barked 24/7. Really bothered us. The neighbours music was so loud. I made a complaint to Esther directly - but she did nothing - pathetic. Buffalo Drift's old car driving up and down was bothersome. We left the house in a cleaner state that we found it.
