A tranquil retreat with every creature comfort.

Spectacular walks in all directions, with clear streams, natural pools, unique rock formations and even a bit of rock art. Our cottage was very comfortable, with excellent WiFi, an indoor fireplace (already laid) and outdoor braai area, comfy arm chairs and a fully equipped small kitchen (with Smeg appliances). Renshaw was readily available if anything was needed and welcoming. Highly recommended. We will be back as soon as possible and will recommend Cedar Peaks to friends and family.

Exquisite rock formations, fynbos and mountain streams. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful place to recharge from the craziness of the world. Very grateful that there is continual effort to keep alien vegetation at bay which means protecting this magical place for future generations. Thank you!

What an incredible place to relax and unwind. The many hikes, rockpools and biking options are incredible and endless. We loved our 2nd visit to Cedarpeak. Looking forward to another visit soon.

Very comfortable. Only complaint was the kitchen - unsafe gas burner. Microwave impossible to work, even with help from Google.

Twee dae van lekker ontspan. Mooi akkommodasie met goeie geriewe.

Baie lekker. Stil en rustig. Mens moet maar saamvat wat jy nodig het. Dorp is bietjie ver weg, so beplan mooi. Vriendelike gasheer. Staproetes is mooi maar kan bietjie verwarrend wees op plekke.

Rus vir die siel en asemrowend mooi!

Ongelooflike ligging en 'n baie vriendelike gasheer. Ons asems was weggeslaan al op Dasklippas op pad na Cedarpeak en dit raak net mooier hoe verder 'n mens gaan! Heerlike staproetes, elkeen uniek! Ons het dit so baie geniet en sal graag weer wil teruggaan! Vat net genoeg kos saam, 'n mens is nie naby enige winkels nie.

We had a great, relaxing time and will soon go again.

A slice of absolute wilderness heaven, in unfettered comfort and friendliness.

Lovely accommodation, friendly staff and so much to do! Plus, just to kick back and relax.

Pure relaxation.

It was an absolute fabulous stay. We enjoyed the lovely hikes in the area. The accommodation was cosy and warm despite the freezing temperatures. Can definitely recommend and will be back in summer to test some of those rockpools.

Spectacular views abound, lovely hikes, although not all of them are properly marked and the cottage has a great mix of rustic and luxury. Would love to come back.

Ons het 'n baie lekker tyd gehad by Cedar Peak.

Die huis (Blomhof) was netjies en skoon. Dit is baie goed ingerig met 'n vreeslike lekker kaggel en warm komberse op die beddens. Oorgenoeg hout om die huis warm te maak en te braai. Die omgewing is pratig en ons het lekker gestap.

Very pleasant. Great setting. Great walks.

A strange mixture of class/expense. Smeg fridge vs no shelf/working space for food prep/washing up/storage of food. Quaint side tables next to beds but with uneven surfaces. No ventilation in toilet. I prefer a built-in braai.

Comfortable with good opportunities for walking.

We were seven retired friends staying in the Blomhof residence for three nights midweek. The weather was changeable allowing for fine walks along the well-marked trails and cosy time by the indoor fireplace. Free dry firewood and free WiFi added to our well-being. Lolling on the wide veranda we enjoyed the view all the way down the valley and some buck that came to graze on the front lawn.

Wonderlik.

Als was wonderlik, plekkie was als wat mens nodig het en meer. Als was perfek.

Wens ons kon langer bly.

Wat 'n wonderlike rus. Pragtige staproetes (ook lekker vir ons 5 jarige). En fantastiese aandag aan detail wat Rooibos Cottage baie gemaklik maak om in te bly!

Stunning.

One of the most beautiful places we have visited.

We loved the remote location amid magnificent walks in wonderful countryside.

Renshaw was a truly wonderful host. Our accommodation (as a couple) was perfectly adequate in Vleibosch - cosy fire over two days of (sometimes heavy) rain. I would certainly return, but to a slightly bigger cottage with our sons. Also would like to try Cedarpeak in the slightly warmer months. Either way, we will certainly make multiple returns.

Great breakaway for a weekend.

Relaxing and Comfortable.

Lovely and stylish cottage. As there were only 3 of us in the end it was quite pricey. Might have been a nice touch to have some fresh fynbos flowers and also complimentary eggs on arrival. Also, there were no matches, but the hot water was divine, the bed very comfortable, everything worked, lovely walks - would have loved to stay longer.

Rustigheid en uitsigte.

Hierdie is 'n baie lekker en rustige plek om af te pak vir 'n naweek, binne 2 ure se ry van die Kaap. Ek is baie vriendelik ontvang. Die staproetes in plekke om te gaan vir uitsigte is aan my uitgewys. Ek het 'n paar van die roetes gestap en die natuur is net asemrowend. Huisie (Kleinbosch) self was baie netjies en die stoep was heerlik om op te sit. Elke middag op die bank gelê en boeklees. Paadjie soontoe kan bietjie sukkel met 'n plat motor, maar is heel doenbaar.

Stap in die mooi berge.

Ons het lekker gestap en gerus hier. Stylvolle huisie en geriewe. Vriendelike diens.

Enjoyable and relaxing.

Beautifully equipped cottage, and amazingly beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed walking, also swimming in the dam. It was a bit hot for any exercise for much of the day. We found the approach on the mountain pass, I think Dasklip rather formidable.

Wonderlike ervaring en beeldskone plek.

Die opsigter was baie hulpvaardig, vriendelik en behulpsaam. Die staproetes is beeldskoon en die plek is stil en rustig. Perfekte plek vir 'n wegbreek as jy wil ontsnap van die besige lewe. Ek sal dit aanbeveel en hulle sal ons beslis weer sien.

Great accommodation. Trails have been clearly marked which made for great hiking.

The accommodation was clean and well appointed. Very comfortable and spacious for 7 guests. Great hiking trails on the farm with plenty of mountain streams to cool off in. Highly recommended.

Beautiful cottage, perfect location and great service.

We had a wonderful stay in the Rooibos Cottage at Cedarpeak. We had a mix of warm and cold weather, so on the warm days we swam in beautiful rock pools and on the colder days we lit a fire in the modern fireplace. Our two small children loved the nature walks. Can highly recommend a stay here. We hope to be back soon. A special shout out to Renshaw who made us feel so welcome and went out of his way to help us feel comfortable.

Was 'n koue nat week, maar hulle het gesorg dat ons heeltyd droë hout het om die kaggeltjie te stook.

Lieflike ruim eenheid. Koolstofie wat die plekkie lekker warm gehou het. Ek het verskriklik lekker gerus die 5 dae wat ons daar was en sal beslis weer terugkeer.

Totale rus vir die siel.

Cedar Peak het 'n spesiale plek na aan ons hart geraak na ek my lewensmaat verloof geraak het oor die naweek. Ek wens ek kon 'n ekstra ster by elke onderwerp sit, veral by ligging. Die plaas is regtig 'n stukkie hemel op aarde. Baie dankie aan die webtuiste, Cedar Peak en baie dankie Renshaw, you have made the weekend experience one to remember. It's like you said: This is a special place. You don't choose the farm, the farm chooses you.

Two hot relaxing days.

Beautiful location. Simple, clean and comfortable cottage. Caretaker was very helpful and brought us eggs and lemons. It was very hot and a fan would have been good in the room. I would have liked some longer walks than the few short walks around the farm. If guests have done longer walks in wilderness areas and recorded them using GPS.

Excellent stay!

Living area is a bit cramped, but not unbearable, nice bath with a view!

Cedarpeak Mountain Cottages is a slice of heaven on earth. Beautiful cottage, beautiful surroundings and such good service.

The attention to detail was great, the cottage was fully equipped and we had everything we needed. The farm manager is extremely friendly and helpful. The surroundings are breathtaking. The perfect destination to relax, restore and have a little bit of adventure.

Omgewing pragtig, maar huisie vuil.

Die omgewing is pragtig en die huisies is ook baie goed uiteengesit. Ongelukkig was alles bederf met die eetware wat baie vuil was, moes elke ding was voor ons dit kon gebruik. Renshaw was baie behulpsaam en het uit sy pad gegaan om ons te help.

A real gem in the mountains.

We loved our 3-night stay this past weekend and will definitely be back – this time with some friends as we’d love to share this special mountain space with them! Our unit, Vleibosch Cottage, situated close to the farm dam, was comfy and equipped with everything we needed, except a hairdryer, which I knew about because I'd checked with the venue before leaving home and had brought my own; on arrival, however, we were pleasantly surprised when the farm manager greeted us with not only a hairdryer, but a few freshly laid eggs and a punnet of blueberries! The open-plan lounge/bedroom leading out onto the patio has views over the dam and the mountains behind it. There is a stream with rock pools at the far side of the dam, which we enjoyed exploring. The farm’s chickens paid us a daily visit. Cellphone signal from the cottage is excellent but Vleibosch Cottage does not have Wi-Fi (although Wi-Fi is available in the larger cottages). Vleibosch Cottage provided the perfect off-the-beaten-track base to simply sit and read, and explore the enormous property with its mountains, streams and rock pools, and incredible rock formations. A 3 to 5 minute walk from the cottage took us to the start of numerous mountain trails of varying lengths. This area is pristine – very natural and untouched – and as such, because so few people walk the mountains here, some of the longer trails have become somewhat overgrown. Two hours into our walk we couldn’t find the next set of trail cairns, took a wrong turn and landed up lost. What should have been a 4 hour walk turned into a 7,5 hour trek through kilometres of thick fynbos and over numerous fallen rocks. Fortunately, as we headed back in the general direction of home, we gained cell reception and were able to send a WhatsApp message and location pin to the farm manager. We were also fortunate to find a jeep track lower down the mountain, which the farm manager knew well as well as where it would lead to. Following the track, we eventually landed up at Beaverlac! The farm manager was already waiting there to pick us up. What an adventure! We were unprepared for the extra-long walk and got very sunburnt, but at least there were some small streams along the way and we were able to hydrate. Our advice when doing the trails here is: walk prepared. Take a hat, sunscreen, water, and a fully charged cellphone with the manager’s number on your phone. Cedar Peak Mountain Cottages is a gem of a place that will appeal to nature lovers and hikers – and those looking to get away from it all. We can't wait to go back! Ek sal definitief hierdie destinasie aanbeveel vir mense wat uit die stad wil wegkom. Die staproetes en watervalle is mooi en nie te moeilik nie. Renshaw was ‘n uitstekende gasheer wat selfs vir ons vars eiers in die oggend gebring het. Die huis is pragtig en netjies en goed toegerus.

Salig.

Heerlik gebly. Rustig. Mooiste cottage. Baie vlieë in die middel van die dag, andersins perfek!

Perfekte ligging, rustigheid.

Die pad na Cedarpeak is nie vir sissies nie. Die grondpad is seker jare laas geskraap, so dis nie maklik nie. Daar is 'n stukkie teer in die middel wat jou laat asemhaal, maar gee maar ekstra tyd vir die pad soontoe as jy dit wil stadig vat en jou skokbrekers red. Maar as jy eers bo op die berg by Cedarpeak is, is alles net perfek. Die uitsigte, rustigheid, staproetes, wonderlike plaasdam met 'n stukkie “strand”. Ons het 3 aande oornag maar kon nog maklik 'n week gebly het! Ons het in Kleinbos gebly, en natuurlik was die bad met uitsig vir my die groot trekpleister. Dit het nie teleurgestel nie! Bed was gemaklik met goeie linne. Die kombuis area is bietjie knap, en 'n rakkie vir afdroog sou bietjie help. Genoeg borde en glase ens, maar 'n lekker skerp mes was ook verlang. Klein goedjies wat die verblyf net nog beter sou maak. Die huisie het heerlike klein kaggeltjie, warm kombers op die bed en elektriese verwarmer vir winter, maar geen waaier vir warmer somer dae nie - ek is bly ons het enetjie saamgery. Die plaasbestuurder was baie behulpsaam en gehelp met staproetes verduidelik en bietjie van die area vertel. Kan nie wag om weer te gaan nie!

Baie lekker plek en mooi verblyf!

Ek sal Cedarpeak sterk aanbeveel as jy bietjie wil wegkom en rus. Verblyf is baie netjies en goed toegerus.
