A bit disappointing.

For R2000 a night to hire a cottage we expected something a little less rustic. It had no welcoming touches whatsoever - we had to ask for the complimentary tea and coffee to be refreshed, there were no tissues in the room, there was no soap dish in the bathroom, no mosquito repellent (but there were plenty of mosquitoes!), the floors were dirty/dusty and the blankets were musty. It was as though the cottages were a neglected part of De Leeuwenhof's general offering. It's a pretty place and the hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Perhaps the individual rooms are a better bet, but on the basis of our experience, I cannot recommend hiring one of the cottages.

Thank you for taking the trouble of writing your review. We understand your issues and i personally dealt with them when you were with us. We supplied you with all the mentioned items and we even changed the tea-backs as you thought they were old. There was soapies supplied in small bottles as well as body lotion in the bathroom but some guests use much more than others and you ran out on your daily supply, we even gave you extra on demand. Mosquito repellent unfortunately is not present in our offered bathroom dish as mosquitoes are very seldom seen in our envirioment, but we will look into this. On your stay we encountered heavy winds and when the doors are open, dusty might have come in. We do run a daily cleaning service of our rooms and cottages and upon arrival of new guests, we have a full check-up.We are sorry you had to encounter the dust issue and we will look into it as well. We certainly do not neglect any part of our offering as we value our guests and we work towards a happy return.
When you come again, we will our very best to make your stay a memorable one into the positive.
