De Oude Kasteel Guesthouse and Country Cottages

Was 'n rustige plek om te bly. Was lekker om die honde saam met ons te hê.

Ons het die huis baie geniet. Alles was loopafstand van die huis. Die swemplek was baie lekker om af te koel. Die huis was ruim en rustig. Ons honde het die groot tuin baie geniet.

Great base to explore Riebeeck Castle.

Riebeeck Kasteel is a wonderful little town and De Oude Kasteel Guesthouse and Country Cottage is an ideal stay from which to explore it.

Loved the old charm of the house.

Pleasant little place.

Somewhat disappointed with the service, but good location and comfortable accommodation.

It was average. No WiFi. Bed not made up in the hallway with bed linen. Short of wine glasses. Limited parking!

Daar was nie WiFi of 'n swembad soos deur die website aangedui nie.

Daar is nie WiFi nie! 3G sein is ook maar swak wat dit moeilik maak. Die swembad wat gelys is op die blad is, is nêrens te vinde nie. Die parkeer area is onder klomp laag hangende bome, 'n groot kar gaan nie daar in kom nie. Die kamer is heel mooi, maar nie die geld werd nie.

Bridget was baie vriendelik en het my al 'n dag voor ons verblyf gekontak om reëlings te maak om ons te ontmoet vir inklok.

Dit was 'n silwerskoon en 'n aangename ondervinding.

Lovely, comfortable house but not in the heat.

The house is big and comfortable. Lovely braai and outdoor area with a splash pool. We chose a weekend with extreme heat which is not the owners fault. However, the bedroom windows face directly onto the street and wooden shutters provide privacy. There are no curtains so you cant sleep with the windows open and the ceiling fan was very noisy, too noisy to sleep. One bedroom only had a bath en-suite.

Die ou huis is prakties en het alles wat nodig is vir 'n heerlike verblyf.

Die huis was baie mooi skoon en netjies en is 'n tipiese ou huis wat jy sou verwag om aan te tref in a dorpie soos Riebeek-Kasteel. Ons was dankbaar vir die braaigeriewe en was binne loopafstand van die oulikste restaurant af. Voorwaar 'n LekkeSlaap-plekkie.

Lovely accommodation, except the fan was not suitable for 40+ December temperature.

Fan was a problem, and on a busy road.

Cottage great. Badly stocked though.

Cottage was great. Bathroom lovely. Kitchen badly stocked. Was advertised as self catering. A microwave is not self catering. No pan. No pot. No hotplate to cook on. Made eggs in electric wok with no egg lifter. Toaster doesn't work. The barstools at kitchen counter is the same hight as the counter so you can't eat there. Only small 2 seater couch for one person. Needs additional lounge chair, braai facilities, well a car wheel rim on 4 legs does not make braai facilities. No braai fork or tongs. The cottage bedroom window is right on a loud crazy busy road. Motorbikes on Sunday afternoon roaring by. People walking in street talking. Suggestion: Board window up. Don't need it. Lounge door enough. Gate can't lock so car is vulnerable from street during the night. So is cottage. I know it's a small town and they believe it won't happen but it can. Not safe. Some owners don't actually know what is required standard wise and you should assist them. As a 3 x guesthouse owner from Cape Town I can assure you that we get inspected before we can advertise in publications and to make sure that the ads are correct and factual. If you read the previous complains they are basically the same. Nothing was done. The owner was great, friendly and even allowed us into the cottage 3 hours before checkin.

Baie gerieflik.

Die verblyf was alles wat ons nodig gehad het - soos meeste plekke in Riebeek, stapafstand van alles. Die plekkie was ruim en netjies met 'n tuin met wonderlike vrugtebome. Miskien nie so romanties en deftig soos wat die naam voorgee nie, maar nogtans fantasties!

It was a great place to stay.

It was great that it was self-catering and we had the use of the entire house.

Gerieflik, netjies en skoon.

De Oude Kasteel is 'n pragtige gastehuis. Ons het beide die huis en wittebrood eenheid bespreek. Gerieflik geleë en goed toegerus.

Lieflike verblyf.

Skoon en netjies. Rustige atmosfeer en diere vriendelik. Waarde vir geld.

Heerlike rustige wegbreekplekkie!

Heerlike stoepkuiers, ten spyte van die braaigeriewe wat bietjie klein is. Rus vir die siel!

Tarief te hoog vir wat jy kry terwyl ons in ander plekke oornag het met lugversorging en TV vir goedkoper.

Ons het geboek vir 4 nagte maar slegs 3 nagte gebly en toe maar besluit om te ry.
