Good enough if you can't find anything else at all.

The stay was good if you're a fisherman. If you expect a comfortable holiday, then you need to bring everything of your own, from pillows to showerhead and outdoor lighting. And a lot of bug spray. Fishing is not that great, with numerous reeds and shallow waters.

Die plek was basies skoon.

The place disappointed.

It is a shame for me to end the year on a negative note. A trip to Emazini Country Resort was made with great anticipation by myself and my wife on December 24th. When we got there, we were received at the gate and after confirming that we had indeed been booked and paid, we were then taken to Chalet 2. On arrival it looked relatively good. After unpacking the luggage, we noticed the following: Several of the lights did not work. The toilet seat was loose and broken. The "multiplug" in the kitchen did not work. The cushions of the sofas in the living room have already been replaced. The plates were not a set of 4, but 3 of one kind and 1 of another. The utensils were also of many different kinds. The TV was not on. We were informed that the fine print states that the visitor must bring his own DStv. I didn't see it, but TV wasn't a major flaw. There were no towels, but we were there early enough to get to the shops. We were not informed ahead of time that the restaurant was closed. There was, and this is only on the general level, not any of the usual things that at least make a difference: Salt and pepper, coffee, tea and Cremora and sugar (just enough for 4 cups), wood for the first barbecue , matches, candles for the mosquitoes, and several of the small everyday things that make the difference between nice or not. We have had or received all of these. We did appreciate the following: The water was warm. The fridge was cold and there was ice in the freezer. We also bought ice cream from the caretaker. The place was basically clean. The bed slept well. We checked out on Friday morning 25 December and traveled home to Pretoria, after giving the key to the caretaker.
