Description

Emden Bass is a charming farmhouse set on a working farm and offers comfortable self-catering accommodation surrounded by the beautiful Witteberg, Rooiberg and Maluti mountain ranges. The farm is located 19 km from Fouriesburg, a small town in the Free State of which 12 km is gravel road and is a short drive from the Calendonspoort border post to Lesotho.

Accommodation is offered in the Main House, Die Melkstal and Bass Fishing.

The main house comprises of 3 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 6 guests. There is an electrical blankets and panel heaters. The bathroom has a shower and a bath. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, small stove, kettle, coffee machine, toaster, crockery and cutlery. There is a sit- and dining area leading to the outside braai area with a basin, as well as a swimming pool..

Die Melkstal is a dormitory and can accommodate up to 14 guests. It is ideal for a large group of friends or family and is furnished with 14 single beds. There are 2 bathrooms fitted with showers and 3 toilets. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering and features a kettle, microwave, stove, toaster, fridge, cutlery and crockery. Braai facilities and gas heaters are available. A big dining room table is available for entertainment. Outside guests can relax at the picnic tables under umbrellas. There is a large braai and area for making fire.

Bass Fishing is a camping ground which features a communal outdoor kitchen and electricity points as well as a bathroom fitted with a shower, basin and toilet.

Guests can cool down in the swimming pool or enjoy bass fishing, hiking, cycling, stargazing, watching day-to-day farm activities. At the swimming pool is a gas hob available on request. Attractions in the area include Meiringskloof Nature Park.
