Fisherman's Cottage @ Wetlands Game Lodge is nestled in the scenic Versamel Mountains just outside Wakkerstroom, offering panoramic views of rolling green hills and tranquil bodies of water. Situated at the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains, the lodge is located on 10,500 hectares of mountainous grassland and wetlands.
Fisherman’s Cottage @ Wetlands Game Lodge comprises 3 charming cottages that have to be booked together to accommodate a total of 6 guests. Each cottage can accommodate 2 guests and is tastefully furnished with a king-size bed that can be converted into twin beds and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. Linen and towels are provided.
Each cottage has a kitchenette equipped with a bar fridge and tea- and coffee-making facilities. It also features a lovely fireplace. The cottages open up to a lovely patio where guests can savor a morning coffee and enjoy the views of the wetlands.
These cottages also have access to a communal kitchen that is furnished with a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, basic cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. There is also a dining space where guests can enjoy their meals and an outdoor braai area.
The lodge features diverse game, bird, and plant life that can be explored on a game drive, a quad bike adventure, or a leisurely stroll. Activities include horse riding, hiking, bird watching, and fly fishing. Guests can enjoy an on-site restaurant and bar, with arrangements for breakfast, lunch, and dinner available at an additional cost.
