Description

Fort D'Acre Reserve is an exclusive private game reserve situated at the mouth of the Great Fish River, 25 km from Port Alfred. Its unique positioning, with sweeping views of bush and coastline, invites visitors to explore contrasting habitats of grassland bushveld, wild seaside, and riverine forest. Game drives into the reserve offer opportunities to view 19 different species of game including Cape Buffalo and Giraffe.

The stylish thatched safari lodge is elegantly furnished. Accommodation is offered in 4 en-suite bedrooms which can accommodate 2 guests in each.

Guests can enjoy the communal swimming pool, or relax in the beautiful and peaceful indigenous garden with giant Coral trees. The indoor dining area, with woodburning fireplace, offers a cosy alternative in the evenings.

Down on the beach is a new lapa where guests can spend the day relaxing on sun loungers, or have a braai whilst watching whales and dolphins just off shore.

Fort D'Acre Reserve also offers a wedding venue that can host up to 200 guests in an updated shed for that rustic farm feeling.

The climate is subtropical, with average winter day temperatures reaching 21 degrees Celsius and the average summer day temperatures reaching 28 degrees Celsius. In summer, the wind regularly swings between the southwest and southeast. There is no malaria in the Eastern Cape and medical assistance is just a phone call away.
