Geelhout Guesthouse

We really enjoyed our weekend.

Our stay was wow, friendly staff, we were welcomed by Abuti Justice. The guy was so kind, also jovial, kind and ever smiling.

Fantasties.

Die gastehuis was fantasties. As ons enigiets gevra het, het hulle dadelik gehelp. Almal was vriendelik en behulpsaam. Baie rustige atmosfeer. Hulle het ons so op ons gemak laat voel. Ek sal hulle definitief aanbeveel. Ons het lekker gerus en gebraai.

It was relaxing.

The place was calm and peaceful for my spouse and me. We were able to relax and enjoyed our stay.

Our stay was not good at all. We even had to leave earlier than expected. The place was dirty; it really felt like one was staying in the landlord’s backroom. I would like to believe that it was taken over by new owners who are still learning about hospitality. There's a lady there who is not friendly at all, a caretaker of some sort, and that place is not for her. On the other hand, Louis was very helpful and friendly. The WiFi could not reach our room, and the electricity kept tripping. Yeah, it was a bad experience.

A very terrible stay!

False advertising. Our room was dirty and had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. It was also very stuffy. The beds were uncomfortable; they need to be replaced. We couldn't shower in the evening because there was no water. We experienced the same problem again in the morning; there was no water. The manager also refused to make our breakfast, which we paid for. We did not get value for our money. Poor service. Our stay at Geelhout was bad. I will never recommend it to anyone.

Die verblyf was lekker. Met loadshedding het ons yskas opgepak. Hulle het ons goed na hulle yskas geskuif, en dieselfde dag die yskas vervang. Ek sal net voorstel om die toilet se sitplek te vervang na iets meer stewig as daai dun, plastiese goed.

Not happy about the lack of privacy and ventilation but loved the staff.

I had a problem with the room. There were no windows and it got very stuffy. The shower head is terrible. The room we stayed in is right at the front of the property, which was not private at all. I will commend the staff though. They were very helpful and friendly. The gentleman at reception was wonderful and patient. The ladies who made us breakfast were just amazing and went the extra mile.

First room right in front of everything and all people passing by and watching us.

Stay was good but the property is very dirty. There are no good or beautiful areas to take pictures. Our room was not in the right area as we were women. We had to open the door while we were undressing or dressing because of the heat and load shedding. Everybody was passing by and looking at us. Gates are not locked during the night and we are in front of a gate that makes us feel unsafe. To tell you the truth, nothing is amazing at Geelhout Guesthouse. All areas are dirty.

Water in badkamer was 'n probleem. Daar is 'n yskas in die kamer, maar niks binne die yskas nie. Ek gee nie om om ekstra te betaal vir 'n koue bottel water of koeldrank nie. Foto's wys 2 enkelbeddens en word so adverteer, maar in werklikheid was dit 'n king-size bed.

No enclosed parking area.

Very uncomfortable to sleep well knowing that your car is completely exposed to theft.

The mirror in room 2 was not clean and there was no shower gel. We only got access to WiFi around 6pm as we were not informed about how the letters should be until we enquired for the second time. We waited for breakfast for a long time. In room 1, there was a spider web just as you enter the room.

Trip was a short one night break from the hustle of the city. Neat and comfortable and easy to locate.

Only stayed one night. Was a very lovely place, service was good. Not long enough there to say anything else.

Just some small but very insignificant items: no teaspoons and the WiFi didn't work, would have been nice to know that breakfast was extra, but would definitely let friends know about the place.

Me and my family we really had fun. The place is nice and quite. I will really go back there for some nice and quite place. All staff were really nice and thanks to KB who made sure we had everything that we need.

Die plek is baie mooi, maar die plek het ons cremora koffie gegee waar ek swart drink. en toilet het nie toilet papier gehad, maar andersins was dit baie lekker om daar te kuier.

Clean and tidy. My crew had a great stay, with the exception of loadshedding. Very comforatble stay.

I just think there should be enough soap, shampoos, towels and body lotion in the bathroom. Although loadshedding is a national crisis, I think the guesthouse can consider having a back-up in a form of a generator.

Ontbyt is lekker voorberei en personeel is baie vriendelik.

Alhoewel daar nie 'n keuse is nie, is die ontbyt baie lekker en goed voorberei. Die personeel is vriendelik. Ongelukkig het die webtuiste se beskrywing nie aangedui dat die ekonomiese of sakpas -eenheid nie 'n en suite-badkamer in het nie, maar in die gang. Beddegoed kort aandag, dis skoon, maar kan gewis vervang word weens ouderdom. Bela Bela se paaie is baie sleg. Ek sal nie weer daarheen gaan nie.

Not very comfortable.

Few things that I think made my stay uncomfortable: 1. TV remove not working. 2. Aircon making noise throughout the night. 3. Bathroom separate from my room, had to make small trips out of the comfort of my room during the night if I needed to use the shared bathroom. 4. We had no contact person to speak to if one needs help during the night. The remote that was not working and the noisy aircon could only be remoted in the morning. 5. No security wall, my car was exposed to the street passersby, security concern.

Average and not properly prepared.

Horrible breakfast. Owner not friendly. Pool not prepared. Friendly staff. My friends showed interest but I’m not sure.

Kamer heel geskik vir familie, dubbelbed baie ongemaklik, buiteligte skyn hele nag in kamer, toilet sitplek deksel gebreek en weg. Ontbyt kan eerder uitgelaat word want dit was regtig glad nie aangenaam nie.

Breakfast needs lot of improvement. Menu displayed not done as planned.

Dit was 'n wonderlike ervaring en my kind het veilig en welkom gevoel.

Rustige omgewing en ons kamer, met sy buitedeur en patio omring deur plante, was 'n welkome ruskans.

Die eienaar se gasvryheid is opregte vriendelikheid en sy het haar onderdakparkeerplek ongevraagd aan ons afgestaan!

Ons het net die aand vertoef na 'n funksie, so nie rerig geleentheid gehad om die geriewe te geniet nie. Was netjies en aan die kant.

Die verblyf-ervaring was ongelukkig teleurstellend.

Die lugreëling in die kamer was oneffektief op 'n warm dag in Bela-Bela! Die dakwaaier se skakelaar het ook nie gewerk nie, die kettinkie na die skakelaar was weg. Die ontvangsklerk het self die lugreëling probeer regstel en ook hulp ingeroep van 'n eksterne persoon, maar daar was geen verbetering nie. Die warm water in die stort is 'n baie flou, dun stroompie. Die druk by die wasbak en bad is reg, so dit lyk soos 'n probleem by die stort se kraan self. Dit was gelukkig 'n baie warm dag so 'n lou/koue stort was draaglik. Die stort se uitlaat het ook nie 'n roostertjie oor nie, net 'n oop gat. Daar was 'n groot groep mense wat saam by die swembad gekuier het en dit ontoeganklik gemaak het vir ander gaste. Die indruk was dat sommige van hulle dagbesoekers was vir wie die ontvangsklerk pap gemaak het in die kombuis en saam met hulle gekuier het. Die kuier-area met swembad en lapa lyk baie mooi, die ontvangsklerk was gewillig om te probeer help en die huis is oor die algemeen netjies. Die huis is in 'n mooi deel van die dorp. Dis duidelik dat dit potensieel 'n baie aangename gastehuis kan wees en die tarief was op die oog af baie billik. Ons ervaring was ongelukkig egter teleurstellend.

Vriendelike gasheer maar hy het nie sy badkamergeriewe waar hy agter in die erf in 'n Wendy-huis bly nie en moet noodgedwonge gastehuis s'n gebruik. Hy doen nie moeite om deur toe te maak nie.

Netjies op oog af maar nie baie skoon. Tuin is verwaarloos.

It was terrible.

The breakfast was terrible! It's definitely not what was on the website, it was terrible. They didn't even clean the bathroom properly, sies.

Baie ongelukkig.

Ons was baie teleurgesteld. Ander gaste het tot vroegoggend ure gebaljaar en ons kon nie oog toemaak. Ons het probeer om bestuur in die hande te kry, maar niemand op perseel. Daar was ook vir ons gesê toe ons daar aankom dat daar koffiegeriewe is. Toe ons wel wil maak is a daar geen melk en suiker. Toe ons 10:00 die oggend moet uitklok toe is daar ook niemand op perseel, ons het ons lam gesoek na iemand. Is baie ongelukkig.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Geelhout Guesthouse. Thanks to the ladies who do housekeeping, they were really amazing both of them. The gentleman who manages the place can do with some people/customer skills training if possible.

Exclusion of breakfast costs on the agent's invoice and a lack of explanation by the guesthouse staff is an unnecessary inconvenience for the guests.

The owner or employee, Rita, called me before I was ready to go check in to arrange that she gives me keys cause she had to be elsewhere. This is unprofessional.
