Groenvlei Cottage

A fabulous place to stay! Highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful weekend at Groenvlei cottage. Everything went smoothly, the cottage is lovely, tastefully furnished, everything we needed was in there. Comfy beds, extra blankets, reading lamps, all kitchen requirements. Cozy fireplace (though we didn't use it), outside braai, cushions for outside chairs. We enjoyed sitting out on the veranda braaing and chatting, walking on the farm. It's very close to Waterval where we hiked into the mountains and saw lovely flowers and waterfalls. All in all a fabulous stay.

This is such a lovely cottage. It is well and generously equipped with good quality bedding, appliances, cutlery, and crockery, etc. Very comfortable, good showers, beautiful views, and a lovely stoep. I really enjoyed it and would love to go back.

Lovely well equipped, clean and comfortable cottage.

The accommodation is highly recommended, very clean, homely, and comfortable atmosphere, and so well equipped, lacking nothing, all sorts of condiments you need. And oh, the most delicious rusks! We had a great time.

The cottage was neat, tidy, and well-equipped. The owner/host was eager to help and considerate throughout the duration of our stay, as we arrived on a day with pouring rain. The cottage has a perfect fireplace that allows for an indoor braai. The farm and surroundings offer much to explore for those seeking adventure. It's a perfect stay for families or individuals, especially artists who want to paint, write, or do photography. It also offers a real farm experience.

Netjies, goed toegerus, veilig, rustig en die gasvrou is baie behulpsaam, vriendelik en gaaf. Baie mooi kothuis weg van die geraas. Ek kan dit beslis aanbeveel en hoop om weer daar te kan bly.

Ons reis was baie lekker en baie gerustellend. Ligging van Cottage was perfek geleë. Ons het die atmosfeer, die stilte en die groenheid van Groenvlei geniet.

Family Christmas getaway.

Service was excellent and seamless from the start. The cottage is a perfect and in excellent condition. We were all very comfortable and needed nothing more. This is the perfect place to come to forget that the rest of the world exists and to truly relax. The kids enjoyed swimming in the dam and we enjoyed the absolute peacefulness of the farm. Marelise made us feel welcome throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend Groenvlei for anyone who needs a break from the city and suburban life.

The cottage was nice and clean. Loved the location of the cottage. True value for money.

Absolutely awesome.

It was everything we had hoped it would be. A nice break away that is not too far from home. A nice time away from home. The place was clean and is well cared for. The self-check-in was great and yet the hostess, Marelise, was always available. Just the mattress on the bed was a bit on the soft side.

An amazing stay!

What a gorgeous, hidden gem that is a hop and skip away from Porterville - such stunning views and so nicely set up! A better cottage couldn't be found for a two night stay. Will definitely be back!

Marelise is 'n uitstekende gasvrou, niks is vir haar te veel moeite nie. Ons het heerlik gebly. Die huisie het alles wat jy nodig het en alles is netjies en georganiseerd. Definitief 'n eersteklas opsie as jy soek na verblyf in Porterville.

Magical stay in a beautiful cottage.

What a gorgeous stay we had, one of us was in a wheelchair so we're always weary of places that say Wheelchair friendly as they aren't always but other than there being a step to the stoep the house was wonderfully accessible and good fun for Emmy 1 year old to run around too, very safe. Wi-Fi and TV was awesome and the amenities provided were awesome. Thank you for the stay.

Pragtige eenheid met meer as wat benodig word. Marelise is ongelooflik vriendelik, gasvry en altyd beskikbaar, nie dat ons enigiets nodig gehad het tydens ons verblyf nie. Eenheid is privaat en gee 'n gevoel van rustigheid. Die uitleg is prakties en die decor laat mens dadelik tuis voel op die plaas.

Wonderful, peaceful stay, thank you! The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed!

Our only inconvenience was the wind that got up when we wanted to braai and we had to move the braai drum and chairs to the back of the house. Otherwise, a most enjoyable stay, thank you!

The only suggestion would be installing a pool at the cottage.

Heerlik kaggel gemaak, games gespeel, warm geslaap. Alles in die kombuis wat jy nodig het, tot koffie, tee, melk, beskuit, servette, foelie!

We Found Everything We Needed. Loved the Decor & Country Setting.

Arriveer 17:30 en oornag net op pad na Weskus. Vertrek volgende oggend vroeg.

Landskap voor huisie is vaal gestroopte landerye. Nie juis 'n plek om in die somer, veral meer as een dag, oor te bly nie. Dam met voëls binne loopafstand van huis is 'n pluspunt. Ietwat onveilig gevoel, geen diefwering voor vensters nie. Wel 'n veiligheidshek in toegangspad vanaf hoofpad, maar geen veiligheidsomheinings nie. Probleem gehad om televisie aan die gang te kry, maar reg gekry na navrae by Wilna.

Ontspan in die stilte.

Die plekkie sou perfek wees vir die hittige somerdae as daar ‘n plonspoel of lugreëling was. Dit was vreeslik warm. Ons het gevoel dit kon skoner wees, ons kruipende baba het vreeslik vuil geraak.

Ons het alles daar baie geniet. Dis vreeslik oulik.

Stunning, clean cottage, but let down by location and cold during winter with little to no sun .

Lovely, clean cottage, but location not great as it's too close to the R44 and safety on farms is an issue at the moment. We did not feel safe as there is no security. Dam is not suitable for swimming. Cold and not facing the sun which is not great for winter but probably perfect for summer. Had to ask for blankets which were not enough for warmth in the bedrooms. No floor rugs or bathroom mats which made for a cold stay.
