We had a wonderful weekend, but there were issues. 1. I booked the entire house but found out that the owner had booked another couple on the Saturday, which caused me a lot of stress. The owner stays in the house, which we did not know, and had offered her room to stay in. Pleasant, tidy, good view.

The beach is 5 minutes away and my room had a view of a beautiful mountain. The room was very clean, and the bathroom had clean shampoo and body wash provided, along with clean towels. The kitchen is spacious and equipped with everything you need, and there is a sparkling blue pool with a huge garden. The host was helpful and ensured a pleasant stay. The stay at Hout Bay Gem was amazing. We were a group of 5 couples who could take some time out away from the kids, work and ministry and just focus on being us.

Horrible, dirty, no toilet paper, shared bathroom with multiple residents in the house.
