Adventure, relaxing, secluded, peaceful.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Ida Olive Cottage. The cottage is perfectly secluded, surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the Karoo, and just a few kilometres from the charming town of McGregor. The peacefulness and tranquility were exactly what we needed, with the cottage providing everything we could ask for. While there is no electricity, this only enhanced the relaxing experience, allowing us to fully disconnect and unwind. The hostess and the rest of the Giddy Goat family were incredibly welcoming, making our stay even more memorable. The fresh goat's milk for our coffee and the opportunity to meet the goats and experience a bit of farm life was a highlight. The surrounding nature was breathtaking, and we enjoyed walking and exploring the area. We can’t wait to return!

Special retreat experience with everything we needed.

We had a wonderful weekend. Accommodation was first class, service was tops, really enjoyed the surroundings in nature. Just being out in the veld with no one near, under the stars. A special place for a retreat. Mid-summer can be hot in midday, but evenings are lovely. Bring your favourite camp chair and enjoy stargazing away from the city lights.

A tranquil escape.

Safe and peaceful. Space to walk or just chill on the patio and enjoy the beautiful view and the birdlife. Rustic accommodation with touches of luxury. Exceptional hosts. Lots of braai options.
