Description
Kamp Schelmhoek in Frieden is ideal for guests seeking tranquility and the natural beauty unique to the Karoo. This farm is located in the Moordenaars Karoo region of Laingsburg, 42 km from the town.
The Bosduif and the Mossie tents each have a double bed mattress and guests have access to the shared ablution block fitted with a shower, toilet, and washbasin. This tent stand has a waterpoint only, private parking and a braai area. There is a boma/ lapa where everyone can visit together.
There is also a kitchen with a gas stove, washbasin, cutlery and fridge. As well as a cabinet with board games. An honesty box with pickled items for sale and all sorts of other items too. Wood is available on demand per bundle.
The Skilpad Caravan accommodates 2 guests and is equipped with bedding, cutlery, and a gas stove. Guests should bring their own towels.
The wild camping area is designed for campers who wish to camp independently on the farm. Guests can choose a spot anywhere along the 4x4 route, which features rough terrain, outside of the rest of the campsites.
The property is pet-friendly. The camp is off the grid, with only solar-powered lights for the evenings. There is no Wi-Fi, but mobile reception is available in certain areas on the farm. The property doesn't have any electricity but relies on sunlight that illuminates the camp at night.
There is a swimming pool where guests can cool off on hot days and enjoy barbecues. Guests can play putt-putt in the play park, go walking, jogging, cycling, quad biking, or stargazing. There is also a children's cycling track, and guests may have the chance to see wild animals.
Additionally, there are 4x4 routes 1 and 2, which span 31 km, as well as route 3 for 2x4 vehicles, which is 8 km long. Guests can make an appointment to explore these routes.
