Lona Guesthouse

Baie gerieflik.

Ek het laat eers daar aangekom, maar hulle het my goed ontvang. Ek het veilig gevoel. Die plekkie was netjies en gerieflik.

Really friendly service. Clean all throughout.

Hoewel die ontvangs uiters vriendelik was, was daar te veel gebreke wat mens nie verwag nie.

1. Die ontvangs by aankoms was regtig baie vriendelik en die toesighoudende persoon was baie behulpsaam. 2. Sekuriteit van veral parkering is baie goed, maar dis waar dit eindig. 3. Die handvatsel van die buitedeur wat na die ingangsportaal toegang gee was afgebreek - mens moes improviseer. 4. In die eenheid was die toiletsitplek heeltemal los, en die stort reg langsaan het nie 'n gordyn of skerm gehad nie, sou jy stort sal die hele toilet nat wees. 5. Met die somber grys kleur van die mure tesame met donker vloerteëls was dit moeilik om te oordeel hoe skoon die vertrek werklik was. 6. Daar is geen bedligte/lampe nie, so mens kon nie lees nie. 7. Die beddegoed was egter skoon.

Place was clean and quiet.

But the shower needs a curtain - water ends up all over the bathroom, the kettle spout was damaged resulting with water all over the place when pouring, TV had no remote need a better DStv selection.

Clean and adequate for what I require.

Welcome was pleasant and room clean providing enough basics. Parking is very tight as not a big area. Cupboard door missing. Biggest problem was a very bright light outside room and a very thin curtain.

I would definitely come again.

Best location. Very clean and best value. I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely use their services again.

Private and quiet with friendly and efficient service.

I was very comfortable in the accommodation provided as well as being satisfied with the service and the friendly welcome that I received. The only problem was that the WiFi was unavailable, and this was the particular reason that made me choose Lona. Hopefully this issue can be sorted out as I will definitely be happy to make use of this guest house again.

Nie 'n aangename ervaring nie!

Die eienaar(s) was nêrens te sien nie. Plek was glad nie op LekkeSlaap of enige verwagte normale standaard nie. Het 02:00 die oggend wakker geword van 'n hengse lawaai en wat toe ontaard het in 'n klipharde woordewisseling.

Lona Guest House will never see me again!

I used my GPS to get me to the address, just as well as there are no indications at the gate identifying the property as Lona Guest House (this was approximately 14h40 and check in time was anytime from 14h00. As I parked at the gate and a young lady opened the gate to exit, she asked if she could help. I asked if this was the guest house, she responded, "Yes, but I hope there is someone here to help you". I proceeded to enter the property and the gate was closed behind me. Once inside the property I walked around the property trying to find the reception, again there was no signage to point me in any direction. I found the property to be in a bit of a disarray, I found a broken high-back chair lying in two pieces next to the patio. I found an open door (red door on the photo) which seemed to lead up some stairs and into what appeared to be a self service kitchen area, also in a bit of a disarray. I called out numerous times with no response. I then phoned the agent through whom I had made the booking, she kindly responded and said that she would get hold of the guest house management and get back to me asap. Shortly thereafter, a friendly lady in a night gown and slippers came out of the house. The lady was on the phone with the agent, the phone was passed to me and I was informed that the guest house management was in town and that she would only be back at the guest house at approximately 16h00. This was not acceptable. Fortunately the booking agent had another guest house in close proximity and alternate acceptable accommodation was provided. My impression of Lona Guest house is that it is a "long term"/student type of residency and does not cater for travellers that need short term accommodation.
