Lekker en gerieflik.

Ons het baie lekker by Nick's Place oorgeslaap. Die kamer was ruim en die linne van die beste. Hulle was baie akkommoderend met ons hond. Die restaurant se kos was smaaklik en daar was 'n wye keuse van disse. Ons sal definitief weer daar oornag oppad Boknes toe.

Great stop-off, very comfortable.

Warm welcome, comfortable and warm rooms, great food.

Hosts were very friendly and helpful. It was nice to be able to order meals at the accommodation and not hunt around for somewhere to eat. The place had a warm home away from home feeling, which was a lovely way to end our holiday.

I was in Smithfield for work. I found the accommodation to be brilliant. The food at the restaurant was great too. No skimping on things like room coffee, etc. Thanks Ian and Fabrice

What an absolute gem in Smithfield. Accommodation was superb and the food was outstanding. Surpassed our expectations in all respects!

Hospitable, comfortable stay.

We were a group of two families and arrived in the midst of dreaded load shedding. The pizza oven was already fired up and the drinks (soft and adult) were on ice. The rooms are very comfortable and Ian and Fabrice are very welcoming (as were Phyliss, Marie-Lousie and Jasper, and new arrival Napoleon).

Comfortable stay at Free State 'gem'.

We overnighted in Smithfield and 'Nick's Place' was everything we could have possibly asked for. The accommodation is a rambling farmhouse decorated from a bygone era. It's homely and comfortable - from the large beds with crisp white linen, to the on-site restaurant (very convenient as there are not many eat-out places in Smithfield). There is wifi and a generator when there is load shedding. A full breakfast is included in your accommodation cost. Fabrice and Nick made us feel very welcome, even sharing gardening tips and a new kitten with us. 'Nick's Place' was an unexpected discovery that broke a long trip, and we would highly recommend you stay there. Made your heart feel warm.

Wat 'n juweel in die Suid-Vrystaat. Ian en Fabrizio is ervare gashere en ons het 'n wonderlike aand in hulle geselskap gehad. Gaan definitief weer daar oorbly.

Friendly clean and comfortable.

The only criticism is that the place was cold at this time of year.

The venue is very old and neglected.

A venue that is in need of serious TLC. Plaster falling of walls. Bed pillars broken off and never repaired. This is a dog-friendly venue. The disturbance of dogs playing at night in the house was there.

Die kamers en eenhede is pragtig en netjies. Daar word aan al die behoeftes voorsien van n moeë reisiger. Die tuin is pragtig en heerlik om te ontspan terwyl pizzas in die pizza-oond gemaak word. Troeteldiervriendelik.

Beautiful, quaint cottage perfect for an overnight stay.

The cottage is lovely. Our dogs were with us, fully enclosed, so perfect for them. Gorgeous garden. The hosts were very welcoming. Delicious pizza. And I have to say that the bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. With lovely white linen.

A very pleasant and restful overnight stay after a long and tiring day's journey from Port Alfred.

Nick and Fabrice, our very talented and friendly hosts, went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and warm on that freezing cold July night. They were also great cooks and personally gave us an excellent dinner and breakfast in the attractive dining room. We loved that charming old house which is situated in a nice quiet area and in a large natural fenced garden. All rooms and even the corridors are tastefully furnished in keeping with the old world atmosphere and are well maintained. We also enjoyed making friends with their lovable and obedient pets. Lucky to be blessed with such a happy home. Thank you guys. We will be back.

'n Besondere aangename kuier.

Na 'n dag met kleinkinders in die motor was die 'n besondere plek. Ons is baie vriendelik ontvang, die aandete was smaaklik en 'n gesellige kuier saam met die gashere en plaaslike inwoners- ons honde was meer as welkom (die omheinde tuin was beslis vir hulle 'n bonus), die beddens gemaklik en die linne kraak vars en die plekkie skoon en netjies. Ons sal beslis in die toekoms ons roete aanpas om hier oor te bly.

Cared for, honestly beyond expectation, the kindest people that went beyond the extra mile.

It was our honeymoon final destination and wow it was magic, honestly a highlight of our trip. Thank you Fabrice.

A very relaxing and comfortable stay.

The interestingly furnished room and bathroom had everything that one would require. Beds very comfortable. Received a friendly welcome which set the tone for the whole stay. Dinner and breakfast very tasty. Will certainly stay again.

Dit is die tweede keer wat ons by Nick's Place oorgebly het en sal beslis weer terugkom vir die gesellige atmosfeer and smaaklike tuis gemaakte etes.

Gerieflik om te oornag.

As jy 'n diereliefhebber is, is dit die plek vir jou, die honde en katte is deel van die dekor. Mooi smaakvol gemeubileerde kamers met die mooiste antieke meubels en vriendelike gashere.

The room I stayed in, the White Room, is lovely with everything you need in it.

Enjoyed the evening sitting on the "stoep" having a delicious dinner with congenial hosts and the company of interesting fellow travellers.

Comfortable stay, not sure I would go back to Smithfield!

Beautiful old house but with no suitable road access to Clarens and Golden Gate not sure we would go to Smithfield again.

Nick and Fabrice were wonderful hosts and the dinner and breakfast was delicious. They made us feel very welcome and at home for our stay. We will return when next passing through Smithfield.

Derde keer se oorslaap stel nooit teleur.

Heerlike, stil en rustige plattelandse plekkie halfpad kus toe. Lekker kos op die stoep.

Kan aanbveel met voorbehoud. Slaap liewer oor in Bloemfontein! Maar as dit moet dan kan mens hier oorbly.

Ou huis nie watwonders reggemaak nie; indruk van stowwerig en “its good enough”. Kamer netjies genoeg maar die en suite-badkamer is 'n hokkie gebou van dun hout, deur kan so-so toemaak, plekkie ruik muf asof daar water lek oor lang tyd. Maar beddegoed skoon en netjies. Ons lief honde, maar hulle slaapplek in een kamer met ou matras op die vloer? Hierdie is 'n basiese plek en kort aandag aan aanbieding.
