Wonderful place and helpful host.

I went there to work on a group project for a week with a team. Although the place is not actually for that kind of activity, it suited us very well, very nice, quiet and beautiful. The house is well equipped and comfortable. I would love to go back on holiday.

Well situated home on Thesen Island. Great for family with children.

Over the past 5 years Thesen Island has been our yearly getaway. Unfortunately, when comparing our stay at On The Water Way to previous accommodation, it was by far the most unpleasant. Appliances in the home are on the old side, and some did not work. Tumble dryer did not dry cloths. The sound system did not work. TV's / DVD player are so old one could not attache external devices (Laptop / hard drives). Upstairs bathroom had water stains running down walls and bathroom cupboards had water damage. The shower had dirty footprints in it upon arrival. With a little tender loving care the home has great potential.

Regarding the malfunctioning tumble drier:The tenant had my personal mobile number and had the problem been reported it would have been addressed the same day, as upon reading the review I sent out Lagoon-Side Electrical to assess; a fuse was replaced and the tumble drier was fine. All the appliances are manufactured by Bosch and were purchased in 2011, and to assume that they are old is an incorrect perception.
I apologise for the footprint in the shower, and discussed it with our cleaning service. However, regarding the condensation water marks on bathroom wall the following: The bathroom is double volume and is tiled to a height of 2 meters while the top two thirds are painted. Unfortunately most bathrooms on Thesen Islands that have the top part painted is prone to condensation marks. Please note there is no mould or mildew. We had a burst geyser a month ago and the insurers replaced the ceiling in bathroom, and repainted the bathroom walls. Thus this bathroom was repainted recently. I have no further comment on this.
Regarding the inner water damage to the empty and unused linen cupboard in bathroom the following: I am aware of this and the insurers are in the process of installing a new cupboard. This damage was also due to the burst geyser. Regarding the TV that is not compatible with the guests laptop: I would rather not comment as we advertise this unit as having TV and full DStv bouquet only. Perhaps the guest is mistaken regarding the amp and sound system as upon inspection it worked fine.

Thesen Island en die omgewing is pragtig. Wat die verblyf aanbetref, weet ek nie regtig waar om te begin nie. Die eenheid was nie baie goed skoongemaak nie - die yskas was vuil, die eetgerei vol vuil merke. In die kamers was die beddegoed verslete en gevlek, die kussings (veral in die hoofslaapkamer) moet dringend vervang word. Ek het regtig meer verwag van 'n eenheid wat in daardie prysklas uitverhuur word. En om alles te kroon daag daar toe skoonmakers op om 08:20 (uitkloktyd is om 10:00?) en sit voor die deur tot ons vertrek om 09:30. Kon nie eens 'n koppie koffie op ons laaste oggend op die stoep geniet nie!
