Description
Palmwag Lodge is situated between Kaokoland and the Skeleton Coast, where the flat-topped Etendeka mountains and the carpet of rich red rock greet the tributaries of the Uniab River. The lodge is nestled amid swaying makalani palms and robust mopane trees, nourished by underground water, and overlooks the sweeping northern Damaraland landscape. Palmwag Lodge collaborates with neighbouring conservancies, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, and Save the Rhino Trust to safeguard this rich wild heritage, offering guests extraordinary unrivalled African experiences.
Accommodation is offered in a variety of units which included Brick Thatched Standard and Comfort twin rooms as well as two Comfort family rooms. Each room is equipped with single beds or a double bed, mosquito nets, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, and a fan for those warmer days. A shaded veranda with chairs and a table, offering the ideal spot in which to sit back and relax.
The lodge offers guided hikes, a day or morning of exploration, and a sleep-out or sundowner drive in the 582,000-hectare Palmwag Concession, a vast conservation area with an abundance of wildlife. These activities can be booked with the lodge for an additional per person charge. Palmwag Lodge offers secure parking, tea- and coffee-making facilities, a bar, and a restaurant.
