Penfield

100% recommended.

This review is a little hesitant as I'm not sure I want others to know of Penfield. However, I can 100% recommend it. The photos as advertised do not do the property/location justice. The location is unreal. If working remotely was an option, we'd move to the area. Early mornings and late afternoons were spent walking down to the river. Also, there are endless district roads for cyclists/runners. The area is remote and feels very safe, with barely any cars out on these. You will most likely only encounter other runners/cyclists. (A cold plunge in the river after your ride/run is recommended). Fishing also looks like the go-to in the area, and I will give it a shot next time. Safety also 10/10. The owner lives on the property. She is always willing to assist and a pleasure to deal with. The unit sleeps two, but note that there is another newly finished unit on the property which can also sleep 2. Just enquire.

Die was ongelooflik. Die ligging en die ongelooflike temperatuurveranderings. Ons het MTB gery en dit was fantasties. Dit was 'n groot ervaring. Almal is gasvry.

Perfect location. The owner has two beautiful, very friendly dogs, so our dogs had the time of their lives playing the whole weekend.

Comfortable, relaxing stay in a beautiful location.

The house was very comfortable, with amazing views and lovely walks. The fireplace was very welcome - the weather wasn't quite what we were expecting in mid-February and the evenings were misty and cool: perfect for sitting in front of the fire with a good glass of red wine. We were welcomed by the friendly resident dogs and were well looked after by Trust and Finance. I would heartily recommend Penfield to anyone visiting the Nottingham Road area.

Die uitsig is pragtig, dit is baie rustig en jy kan net ontspan. Die feit dat die WiFi nie gewerk het nie, het gemaak dat ons nog meer tyd kon spandeer om na die rivier te sit en luister.

Amazing.

The place had an amazing view, the accommodation was out of this world, but there was no WiFi as the system was down.

Baie lekker ruim eenheid. Het alles wat jy nodig het in die eenheid. Die uitsig is ongelooflik.

It was nice. They need to add a microwave and also clean the swimming pool. Other than that, great place.

Relaxing and beautiful.

Tremendous views and incredibly beautiful in general. Very comfortable and I would recommend it as well as stay again. I would just say that the kitchen is missing a few key items. We did have to ask for the gas to be switched on in order to cook. The WiFi didn't work, and although the dogs are really nice, I did have to ask to fetch Max the Boerboel as he was a little overexcited and wanted to jump on us when we sat down. If you aren't a dog lover, then this isn't ideal, but as I say, I would definitely go back as it is a very unique place.

A very beautiful, stunning, and relaxing place. The host Joni was very caring and kind and always made sure we were comfortable.

Absolutely amazing.

Penfield is such a beautiful home, with amazing views and gorgeous finishes to the house. So Private and peaceful, the hosts were very friendly and accommodating whenever we needed anything. We travelled in a polo so the road leading to the house was a bit tough an SUV/bakkie will probably be preferable next time. Other than that, I loved everything about it.
