House Rules
Smoking, parties, and pets are not permitted.
While Pepper House is not a party venue, guests may host small-scale gatherings with prior approval and under special terms and conditions. Enquiries regarding event accommodation are welcome.
The bedrooms are fitted with heating for guest comfort. However, due to South Africa’s ongoing electricity crisis, power is extremely expensive, and excessive usage may result in temporary outages. Guests are kindly requested to use electricity responsibly.
Scott Estate is a peaceful residential neighbourhood where loud parties are not permitted. Neighbours reserve the right to contact local authorities in cases of non-compliance. Guests are asked to respect the community by keeping noise levels at an acceptable level at all times. Cooperation in this regard is greatly appreciated.
No smoking is allowed. Guests who do not adhere to this policy may be charged for professional cleaning services, including curtain and upholstery cleaning, to remove smoke odours. These costs can be significant, so compliance with this rule is essential.
The housekeeper, Lydia, resides on-site in a self-contained flat on the ground floor and is available seven days a week for check-ins and check-outs.
Cleaning service is provided Monday to Friday.
Additional services, such as ironing or babysitting, may be arranged directly with Lydia. She is also available for weekend or after-hours assistance by private arrangement.
The pool is heated; however, during winter, temperatures may vary depending on rainfall, Cape storms, and whether the pool cover is kept on. Guests who wish to swim in winter are encouraged to notify the host in advance so the heater can be run for a few days.
