Description
Situated on the beachfront, this beautiful home has an enormous covered, furnished patio, with a braai (BBQ) area, completely protected from the wind and with spectacular views of the ocean. The interior is tastefully furnished and each bed is covered with a lovely home-made quilt. The very spacious main bedroom with a king-sized bed. Double second bedroom with 2 single beds and large third bedroom with 3 single beds. There is a dining room with a 10 seater table and comfortable Lounge with TV/DVD player/DStv and large couches. There is also a seperate cottage that sleeps another 5 people.
The modern kitchen is fully equipped including stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, chest freezer, dishwasher, blender, coffee machine and more, leads on to a courtyard. There is a separate laundry area with tumble dryer and washing machine and the bathroom is spacious with a large tub and shower.
In the evening, relax, or enjoy a braai or dinner on the patio. Watch the beautiful sunsets over Port Nolloth Bay and the return of the fishing trawlers and diamond dredgers after a long day at sea manoeuvring thru the port and starboard buoys in the channel heading back to the harbour. In the morning, watch the heavy-side dolphins, seals and occasional whale frolic in the waves from either the patio or from the lovely wooden boardwalk that stretches across rocks and rock pools from beach to beach.
Our beachfront home is perfectly located within walking distance 200-300 m (along the boardwalk) to restaurants and shops, but private and away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre. Enjoy walks along the long white sandy beaches, or soak up the unique history of this quaint little town. Once named Aukwatowa by the Nama people, it later became known as Robbebaai due to the abundance of seals and finally it was renamed Port Nolloth by British settlers who identified the bay as a harbour from which they could ship copper ore mined inland. Just as the Ore shipments started declining, alluvial diamonds were discovered (1926). The main industry today is marine diamond dredging, crayfishing and tourism.
Couldn’t be closer to the beach!
