Dit was 'n kort kuier, ons kom graag weer en bly vir langer. Dit was so lekker om die wêreld en al die bedrywighede by die afdraai te kon los en jouself te kan vind in die natuur. Dankie vir 'n baie lekker plek wat julle met almal deel.

Fantasties pragtig.

Chalets is pragtig skoon en keurig toegerus. Daar is alles. Jy kan net jou kos bring.

Mid-week breakaway.

Along the beautiful Van Der Stel Pass in the Overberg, lies a little gem called Porcupine Hills, a working olive farm with some gorgeous secluded self-catering cottages. Our cottage (Caracal) sits nestled in the mountains next to a stream, surrounded by acres of natural beauty of the larger Diepklowe Private Nature Reserve. Caracal is well appointed, with everything to make your stay in nature comfortable. The cottage is perfect for a couple with a lounge, kitchen, bathroom (large shower, basin and toilet) and bedroom. You just need to bring your own food and drinks and a good book to read next to the mountain pool. No TV, but good WiFi. Large braai place outside and inside the kitchen (just right for those cold winter months). There are a few hiking trails to explore. We took the road up to Moonrise Hill, down through the secret forest and around the dam. If you want peace and quiet, and don't want to drive to far out of Cape Town, Porcupine Hills is the perfect spot.

The chalet was nice and cozy, safe and easy to find. The reception greeting was incredibly warm and welcoming. I would highly recommend staying there. Be prepared for a long dirt road drive. I had an excellent nights sleep.

Heerlik.

Ons het baie lekker gebly, jammer dit kon net een nag wees. Sou graag wou rondloop en omgewing geniet, maar dit is winter in Wes-Kaap.

Dit was heerlik, ons gaan definitief weer kom!

Dis baie mooi en so gesellig en heerlik in die natuur met die heerlike staproetes. Daar is alles wat mens wil hê om te ontspan en herlaai!

Calm, peaceful and untroubled. A place so serene that you can hear your heartbeat, listen to your thoughts, reconnect with nature and rejuvenate your soul.

Although it was such a short stay, we had a great time and an unforgettable experience. We would have liked to go on the hiking trails but we ended up spending most of our time at Klipboks "homestead" just enjoying each other's company and having the best time of our lives. Upon arrival, one friend who’s not big on “bush living” was a bit uneasy and skeptical about the place not being a typical hotel setup, but once the bonfire was on and we all sat around it, let me just say now he says he can’t wait to go back. The star-lit night sky was so perfect, I can only imagine what star-gazing would be like on a beautiful summer night. With breathtaking landscapes, surrounded by hills, hearing the water run down the stream near the very intimate and cosy chalets was just so soothing. Clearly a weekend is not enough, I’d trade city life any day just for this kind of peaceful living.

Tucked away in the trees, the most relaxing, and beautiful nature retreat.

The farm is the most beautiful and vast stretch of nature. Everywhere you look is a green and tranquil hug. The location of the Dassie cottage is absolute perfection; facing, and overshadowed by the most gorgeous trees. Sounds of nature all around, and a wonderful firepit for a lekker outdoor braai and chill.

Outside braai light not working. Place full of cob webs. No water for two days. Toilet not flushing. No Covid protocols upon arrival.

Natuur en stilte dit is alles die moeite werd gewees!

Ons het die natuur en die privaatheid baie geniet. Ons sal definitief weer teruggaan, want dit is alles asemrowend!
