House Rules
Please note: From 1 September 2017 all visitors over 18 years old will be required to produce an identity document, passport or alternative valid identification e.g. driver’s licence card for scanning upon entering/exiting the Parks.
A standard daily conservation fee of R100 for foreign visitors, R100 for SADC nationals with a valid passport, and R50 for South African Citizens and Residents with ID, will be required on entry to the park.
Boulderbaai Coastal Camp Site can be reached with a 2x4 high ground clearance vehicle from Hondeklip Bay road gate.
The roads to most sites are poor with stretches of soft sand. Vehicles towing caravans or trailers should be careful, particularly if you are not used to towing in soft sand. Please ensure beforehand that your tyres are the recommended pressure for sand driving.
The sites have no water, electricity or ablutions, and only have enviro toilets.
There is no cellphone reception.
There is wood available at Groen River gate, but it is recommended that you bring your own wood.
No shop, restaurant, fuel or ATM facility is available in Namaqua National Park. Vehicle fuel and ATM facilities are available in the nearby town Springbok 87 km away.
In the inland areas, visitors can make use of sedans or 2x4 vehicles, but to make the most of their visit and to see most of the Park they will need a 4x4. At present the park has only a limited road network available to sedan vehicles.
It is an offence to pick flowers or to remove plants or any other material from the park.
The use of drones inside (and over) our national parks is strictly prohibited.
No smoking is allowed inside the accommodation.
Remember, by feeding any wildlife you are signing their death warrant, as they become aggressive.
As outdoor lighting in camps is limited, a torch/headlamp is required when walking outside at night.
Pets are not allowed in a National Park.
