Please note: From 1 September 2017 all visitors over 18 years old will be required to produce an identity document, passport or alternative valid identification e.g. driver’s licence card for scanning upon entering/exiting the Parks.
A standard daily conservation fee of R208 for foreign visitors, R104 for SADC nationals with a valid passport, and R52 for South African Citizens and Residents with ID, will be required on entry to the park.
Please note: Due to the layout of the camp at Mosu Lodge, we regret that guest can’t park their vehicles next to their bungalows. The parking is in front of the reception and baggage trolleys are provided to load and off-load guest luggage.
There is no fuel station or groceries shop in the park. The closest fuel station is at Modderrivier.
Please note that there is no ATM facility available in the park.
At gate of entry: All guests need to report to the closest reception from the gate to obtain a gate permit number, before they travel to other camps or drive in the park. Each reception is situated 6 km from the gate.
Guests to Mokala are advised to plan their trips to reach the main gates before gate closure times. The main gates are not manned 24 hours a day , therefore punctual arrival is advised to prevent any disappointment by arriving at a locked gate.
Guests with bookings to the Tree House, Motswedi camping site and Haak -en -Steek should check- in at reception at the latest 1 hour before main gate closing times to make provision for travelling time to the different camps. Driving around outside the gate opening and closure times is not permitted. You will be advised of the internal camp gate times on arrival as it may change depending on the season.
Sedan vehicles might not be suitable for all roads within the park when there has been rain in the area. Please contact the park for up to date information with regards to the accessibility of the roads both internal and external.
Please note that during the rainy season we have to close some of the internal roads of the park for the safety of the guests. This will have a direct impact on the road leading from Mosu Lodge to Lilydale Rest camp. The alternative route/detour will be along the N12 to either of the camps.
The use of drones inside (and over) our national parks is strictly prohibited.
No smoking is allowed inside the accommodation.
Remember, by feeding any wildlife you are signing their death warrant, as they become aggressive.
As outdoor lighting in camps is limited, a torch/headlamp is required when walking outside at night.
Pets are not allowed in a National Park.
Cancellation Policy - Custom
Cancelling or downgrading of a reservation 45 days or less prior to, or on, arrival will result in cancellation fees according to a sliding scale, based on the total reservation cost, which varies between 50% and 100%.
