Description
The SANParks Overseers Mountain Cottage is a uniquely positioned cottage with incredible views, situated right on top of the mountain, in the Table Mountain National Park. The cottage is a moderate 2 to 2.5 hours walk from Constantia Nek.
Visitors need to make arrangements with the Platteklip Wash Houses prior to arrival with regards to porterage. Porterage is from Constantia Nek parking area. Please note this is hiking accommodation and all visitors need to hike up and down the mountain. Lifts are not offered up to this facility and nor are permits granted for vehicles to be driven up the mountain.
The cottage and its adjoining annex can accommodate groups of up to 16 guests. The first bedroom contains 4 single beds. The second bedroom contains a bunk bed. The third bedroom contains 2 bunk beds. The fourth, fifth and sixth bedrooms each contain 2 single beds.
The rooms have shared use of an ablution facility. The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and includes a gas fridge and gas stove, and cutlery and crockery. There is no electricity at the cottage and gas geysers and a paraffin lanterns are supplied. The house has a communal boma and braai area. A starter kit of wood is supplied, but it is recommended that you bring an additional bundle or 2 if you like a fire.
