This house and its setting are simply extraordinary!

We were a group of 5 friends and each one of us loved our stay in this house. The design and layout of the house is just wonderful and suited us perfectly. The photos on the site don't do it justice. The house is homely and comfortable, full of interesting books and furnishings, with everything you will need and more and each bedroom is private and lovely in its own unique way. The garden, which is extensive, is utterly sublime. We spent happy hours on the balcony overlooking the lush scenery and the sea in the distance. The beach was a short walk away and we appreciated the fact that the house is removed from its neighbours so we felt totally secluded. There is no better place to relax and have a holiday. Checking in and out is easy and the support we received from Lucy and Phillipa was greatly appreciated.

Absolute heaven!

There are not enough words to describe this piece of paradise. The gardens are simply out of this world, like a tropical botanical garden. They just go on and on and don't seem to end. We still have more to explore. The house is stunning, very "Indian Summers" and lent itself to a few Gin and Tonics in the afternoon (which we did!). Amazing birdlife, the most awe inspiring views and so peaceful. The vast collection of books, both reading and reference, kept us busy. Just a short walk down the garden to the beach was a very nice surprise as it looks so much further away from the balcony. The draw down staircase is a marvel. Will definitely be going again!

Thank you so much for this glowing and very thoughtful review Emma. Your party was an absolute pleasure to host and we do hope you will come back. As the owners of the property are avid gardeners, they are always so happy to have guests that appreciate the grounds and beautiful setting in amongst the trees. Warmest regards, Shepstone Villa

The perfect home away from home.

Shepstone Villa is the perfect escape from the world. The oasis of indigenous plants, fuss-free decor and attention to detail from the utensils in the kitchen, the array of games and down to the first aid kit, was exactly what we needed to decompress for a few days. And best of all? We got to do it with the dogs. I would go back in a heart beat.

Lovely honeymoon stay.

The house is huge and beautiful, in lush jungle gardens. The bedroom and four-poster bed is too beautiful and romantic for words. We did encounter some spiders, (which I suppose can't really be helped), so just be on the lookout for those. We think a proper (sealed) front door should be added though, as we felt a bit exposed and vulnerable without one. We loved the pull-down drawbridge-style staircase! We loved the outdoor shower and the dreamy bathroom and big sexy tub! The gardens are divine. But if there is a route down to the beach please mark it. We ended up accidentally traipsing through someone's property by mistake! We also found a few lights and bedside lamps not working. And we didn't have any hot water the first night, as the geyser had just been turned on. But all in all a magical stay and would highly recommend.
