Faraway Cottage @ Simonskloof Mountain Retreat offers a unique, off-grid escape located 50 km west of Montagu. Nestled in the serene ecotone of the Succulent Karoo and Mountain Fynbos, this eco-friendly accommodation is perfect for couples or small families seeking a tranquil retreat immersed in nature. With its breathtaking views, diverse medicinal plants, and abundant wildlife, it's also an ideal venue for yoga and healthy living workshops.
This secluded cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests in 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and the second with 2 single beds. The cottage is fully of-the-grid. The bathroom is fitted with a solar-heated shower with a gas backup. The kitchenette has a fridge, a 2-plate gas hob, and all the essentials for preparing meals.
This cottage features an indoor fireplace, outdoor fire pit braai, and a unique bathtub under the open sky, with a hammock on the veranda overlooking endless fynbos-covered hills. Access to the cottage is suitable for regular vehicles, with secure parking available right next to the cottage.
Faraway Cottage @ Simonskloof Mountain Retreat offers various outdoor activities, including short hikes, rock climbing, and swimming in the farm dam or nearby rock pools. Guided adventures such as canyoning, wilderness trekking, and abseiling are also available.
