Description

Simunye Private Game Reserve offers charming chalets and communal spaces on 215 hectares of tranquil bush teeming with wildlife in Madibeng. The reserve is located 120 km northwest of Johannesburg, 70 km from Pretoria, and 73 km from Lanseria International Airport. The last 10 km is a sand road that can be accessed without an SUV or 4x4 vehicle. Ideal for those who love the bush and wildlife, the reserve also caters to private groups, retreats, mountain bike tours, and family gatherings.

Accommodation consists of 4 individually decorated chalets, each sleeping 2 to 5 people. Options for queen-size or single beds are available. Each chalet includes an en-suite bathroom with a shower or a separate bath and shower, a sitting area, and comfortable outdoor patio seating. Inside, amenities include coffee and tea stations, ceiling fans, and refrigerators. The luxury chalets also feature a kitchenette with an induction stove, wash-up sink, crockery, and cutlery.

Guests have access to shared areas within the main “hub,” including a 12.5 m salt-chlorinated outdoor swimming pool with deck loungers and umbrellas, a well-equipped kitchen and dining facility, a large outdoor braai, and a serene rock lounge. The grounds and dwellings offer views of wildlife, and the birdlife is exceptionally active. An electrified security fence surrounds the “hub” for added peace of mind.

Activities outside the "hub" include self-guided nature walks, bird watching, game viewing on foot, trail running, and mountain biking on well-maintained sand roads within the reserve. Cyclists can extend their ride beyond the reserve. Additional activities, including guided walks, bike rides, and game drives, are available. A limited number of bicycles are available for rent. For wellness, guests can enjoy Yin-Yang yoga classes (mats provided) or massage therapy for muscle relaxation and stress relief.

Catering options include a continental breakfast and dinner selection. Birders and wildlife enthusiasts are encouraged to bring binoculars, cyclists should bring their mountain bikes, fitness lovers should pack trail shoes and swimming costumes, yogis should bring yoga mats, and those simply looking to relax should bring their hats and favourite books.
