I had a lovely time with my friends. The rooms were lovely and neat. The bed is super comfy! I was not able to stay connected to the WiFi, which was a bit annoying, but you had warned us that it would be intermittent. The grounds and view of the dams from the rooms were stunning. We had a lot of fun swimming in the pool and had a good lunch at the BOMA. The kids enjoyed the climbing frames in the play area. My only gripe is that there was a strong sewage smell on the evening of the 31st Dec (from the family rooms) and we had no water on the morning of the 1st Jan (until we called the host and he came and switched on the water). I also didn't have hot water on the last morning (2nd Jan) in my single room, but I didn't call the host about it that time (probably should have). Overall, I was very pleased and will come back again.

Pragtige ligging, maar nie heeltemal die standaard wat ’n mens verwag nie.

Met ons aankoms het verwarring oor ons bespreking geheers, want die datums wat St Ives gehad het, het verskil van dié wat met ons bevestig is. Gelukkig het hulle ’n eenheid vir ons gehad. Ons het die volgende dag gevra dat hulle kyk na twee kragproppe in ons kamer wat onklaar was en die ligte wat heelnag buite die eenheid se vensters brand. Ons wou ook weet of ons ’n gordyn voor die kombuisvenster kon kry en voor die ander vensters, soos geadverteer op hul foto’s. Ons het geen reaksie gekry nie. Ons het sewe nagte bespreek, maar dit het drie keer gebeur dat ons eenheid laatmiddag nog nie gediens is nie, wat daartoe gelei het dat ons moes rondsit en wag. Ontvangs se verskoning was hulle is besig en baie gaste het gekom en gegaan. Die eenheid is taamlik skrams toegerus sonder ’n paar basiese noodsaaklikhede van ’n selfsorgplek. Van die lakens was geskeur. Die ligging is pragtig en die eenheid is lekker ruim, maar ons sou lekkerder gebly het as hulle aandag aan ons versoeke gegee het en hulle diens opskerp. Die wilde diere om die eenheid was ’n groot bederf, so ook die swembad en die ruim perseel.

Baie mooi plek. Die uitsig van die kamers af was nie baie nice nie.

The rooms were pleasant and clean. Amazing fireplace and the scenery is stunning.

Dis 'n pragtige omgewing en is goed versorg. Die boma is 'n lekker plek om elke aand gou iets te kry om te eet en iets te drink.

Alles is netjies en ons het dit baie geniet. Die kamer is gerieflik en ons kon goed rus. Die gronde is goed versorg en daar is baie diere wat naby jou rondloop. Ons het zebras, rooibokke, blouwildebeeste, en blesbokke heeltyd gesien. Wat dit nog beter sou maak, is as die kamer 'n uitsig gehad het.

Well situated in Midlands, very neat and tidy with great restaurant on site.

We stayed at St Ives as a family. (Wife, husband, two kids (ages 8 and 14).

Beautiful setting in a stunning location across from Piggly Wiggly in the Midlands. They have wildlife on the property, so you are lucky enough to sit on your porch and watch bucks and zebras walk around. Green all around, with a swimming pool for the kids and a play area next to the pool. It is truly as green as the pictures. The only area for improvement is to have information in the room for guests. If you arrive after 5 on a Sunday or on the days the restaurant on the property is not open, you need to plan ahead.

Die uitsig is amazing. Die wild kom tot jou deur. Die staf is baie vriendelik en help waar hulle kan.

Beautiful location and great value for money. Some TLC to the unit could make it an amazing place.

We stayed in one of the two Silo units and while it was very comfortable and we had no real issues, it could do with some TLC. A few of the outdoor lights weren't working and some tiles are coming off. The outdoor paint colour is an interesting one and a change on the next coat could make this a much more attractive-looking venue. Not quite sure if it should be self-catering or not. It has many of the items needed for self-catering but not close to all needed though. I would recommend adding a few more bits.

Baie vriendskaplike ontvangs gewees. Die kamers was skoon en netjies. Sal St Ives Lodge vir seker vir iemand kan aanbeveel.

Was baie rustig gewees om daar oor te bly.

Ons het eers na sewe die aand daar aangekom, het toe aandete gaan geniet. Ons moes toe weer vroegoggend ry om by kliënte te wees. Dit was die moeite werd gewees om daar oor te slaap. Vir wat ons in die donker gesien het moet dit 'n baie mooi plek in die daglig wees.

Groot, skoon familiekamers - pragtige uitsig - heerlike kaggelvuur vir koue reënerige dae.

Gesinseenheid is ruim met twee kamers, elk met eie badkamer. Goeie sekuriteit. Pragtige plek wat n' rustige atmosfeer skep met wilde diere wat rondloop. Sal beslis weer daar oorbly.

Heerlik, rustig en baie mooi.

Alles is baie netjies. Sal volgende keer beslis langer bly!

Ideale wegbreekplekkie.

Heerlik geslaap en ontspan. Die Wifi was 'n bonus vir die kinders. Sal enige tyd weer teruggaan.

Great stop-over on the way to KZN.

Boma restaurant is amazing, just across the road are the most amazing shops and activities for the kids. Candle dipping, animal farm, zipline. Mandela capture site is just up the road - we really enjoyed our stay.

Nie die geld werd nie.

Daar was vir 2 van my kliënte en myself nie warm water. Dit was die middel van die winter.

Terrible Christmas 2022

The worst experience ever. We stayed at this accommodation over the Christmas weekend and on our first night, there were no outside lights on our silo so it was difficult to braai. On Christmas day we requested them to clean up or neaten up our room and they said we need to leave for an hour or 2 only then they will clean up, so we did that and it took even longer, when returning to our silo, it was not even touched. Apparently, they had other rooms to clean up cause people were coming in by 2 pm for check-in, which is fine but why not have enough staff so they can ensure to take care of the people that booked in already it was a true inconvenience to us leaving for 2 and a half hours because we could have prepared our Christmas lunch, but we couldn't because we had to come back clean up then prepare lunch and an hour after that all the plugs tripped we had no power, only lights and then eventually the lights even went off, they refused to put the generator on, they pulled us to 5 pm because that's the time it usually comes on, it was truly disappointing, especially on a Christmas weekend, the staff were unprofessional as well. Will definitely post this on other platforms and will definitely never return to this place.

We had a very enjoyable stay at St Ives. The staff was friendly and the room was just right. We ate at the boma which overlooked the dam. Beautiful view for a sunset and to relax.

Dit was fantasties. Was 'n koue aand en die kaggel in die kamer was net die ding om warm te bly en rustig te word.

Was baie aangenaam verras. Die kamer was fantasties, groot bed, kaggelvuur, en die stort se waterdruk was baie hoog wat dit lekker gemaak het op 'n koue dag. Die ontbyt was 100%. Die Boma se kos die vorige aand was baie lekker ook en gesellig.

Alhoewel die bespreking noem dat inkloktyd tot 20h00 is, was daar groot verwarring toe ons 18h45 daar opdaag en niemand weet van die bespreking nie.
