Besonder aangenaam, bo verwagting ontspannend en dit was heerlik om so bederf te word.

Ons verblyf by Sundown Country Estate was heerlik. Die personeel is besonder vriendelik en hulpvaardig. Die kos was uit die boonste rakke! Die kamer was baie skoon en gerieflik, al was dit oudmodies, was als steeds gerieflik. Die swembad en swembadkroeg was 'n wenner. Dit was uiters skoon en baie gerieflik. Die nuwe eienaars is baie aangename, vriendelike mense en is besig met groot verbeteringe aan die landgoed. Ek hoop om spoedig weet 'n wegbreek daarheen te kan onderneem.

Oornag verblyf

Het een nag oorgebly voor my fietswedren by Sun City. Was aangenaam verras toe personeel aanbied om 'n ontbytpakkie te gee aangesien ek vroeg moes vertrek. Kamer was skoon, groot en gerieflik, ek het vroeg gaan slaap met geen steurnis nie.

Lovely place. Seriously under staffed. Would go again.

Biggest issue was slow restaurant service. Did not even have breakfast on last morning. Was also told that the lady who made an error was going to be charged the difference. I felt bad so ended up paying it in anyway.

Na ek my bespreking gemaak het, het 'n aantal mense kommentaar gelewer oor die plek, en dat hulle nie daar sou bly nie. Wel, ek het met die intrapslag sommer klaar vir hulle fotos gestuur om hulle verkeerd te bewys. Die kamer is pragtig en ek het baie lekker geslaap. Ja, die gebou is oud en kan hier en daar bietjie liefde en aandag kry, maar oor die algemeen kan ek regtig nie fout vind nie.

Een nag verblyf nie ver vanaf Sun City.

Ons het een nag oorgebly nadat ons die NGC2019 by Sun City geniet het. Die hotel en kamers is oor die algemeen skoon, netjies en gerieflik. Die prys is baie billik. Ons het die aand die buffet geniet - die verskeidenheid was goed. Ons sal net aanbeveel dat die vleis nie só oorgaar en drooggemaak word nie. Die ontbyt die volgende oggend was vars en smaaklik.

Some of the staff members are friendly but the receptionists do not attend to you fast enough.

The rooms where very clean. The pregnant lady with the short hair at the restaurant was extra friendly and very helpful. The receptionist unfortunately not friendly and very slow, I felt like I could do their work for them. 70% of the time there was no electricity that was annoying. I personally wouldn't go back there.

The family rooms require serious remodelling.

The carpets are dirty and the rooms are not aesthetically pleasing. The family rooms are open-plan. These rooms must be demarcated for privacy.

They treated us with care and their food was also nice. However, the linen they used was brown and it had dust on. Hence, I could not sleep because of sinus caused by the dust. They must start using white bedding as we can see if it's dirty.

Ons het 'n lekker aand gehad by die hotel. Rugby was op die big screen vir ons om te geniet na 'n lang dag uit in die Wildtuin. Kamer was skoon en netjies. Kos was heerlik gewees - sal verseker terug gaan vir hulle hamburgers. Baie dankie, Sundown Ranch.

It is value for money. Convenient and close to Sun City.

Only issue had was that breakfast menu does not cater to all dietary requirements (example: if one does not eat pork (bacon) what do you eat?) All that was available was baked beans and mash. No mention was made of being able to have eggs first morning, self service breakfast. Menu needs to change / be enhanced. Bathroom shower, water pressure too high.

I can see there are some improvements being done at the hotel which is great, more is needed though especially in the shower - shower head, soap holders, etc. Staff very friendly - must keep it up!

Except for cold shower in the morning, everything was okay.

This can be a nice place for holiday only if the shower system can be attended to. We were lucky to visit during summertime. I don't want to imagine how it would be like taking cold shower on a middle of winter morning. No complaints at all about the restaurant, food was great.

Naby Sun City wat dit maklik gemaak het om die golf by te woon. Skoon kamer, moes vir handdoeke vra. Kroeg het snoekertafel. Groepie plaaslike mense het geraas gemaak, musiek aangesit terwyl ons rugby kyk. Net na 5 die oggend het die hotelpersoneel ons wakker gemaak met hulle pratery langs ons kamer.

By ontvangs was daar niemand om ons te help nie, ons het 10 min gestaan en wag. Bar-area was daar niemand nie. Verder was kos lekker. Restaurant was puik met goeie diens.

An older hotel, great value for money and close to Sun City.

The hotel is an older hotel. I found my room to be very neat and clean. Only 10 km from Sun City. It is ideal. Great value for money and so long as you understand that you are paying half the price of any other hotel that close to Sun City, you won't be disappointed. I found the staff fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely use them again.

The hotel is nice and not far from Sun City which was our main reason for our holiday.

Reception staff were very helpful and nice but one of the domestic workers was unfriendly to us. Only one odd person does not mean the whole team were like that. The service is more personalised and if you do not complain they will take advantage of you. To get a good service you have to complain which is the only disappointing thing.

The breakfast on offer was absolutely great and staff is friendly. Pool area is great and rooms going out into the gardens very convenient. The hotel itself is very old and probably in need of an upgrade (especially the bathrooms) but overall a comfortable experience.

Die hotel is afgeleef en kort opknapping. Desnieteenstaande was alles skoon en netjies. Die kos was van baie goeie gehalte en mens kan nie daaroor kla nie. Ek sou nie weer daar tuis gaan voordat die plek opgeknap is nie.

Naweek oorgeslaap weens geen verblyf by Sun City.

Die hotel buite kort baie opknapwerk, binne in die hotel is dit baie oud en kort ook opknapwerk, ons kamer wat ons gehad het was wel baie skoon en mooi (lyk of daar net een moderne kamer is) remote vir TV was nie beskikbaar nie, werkers was baie vriendelik (seker die beste, vriendelikste diens wat ek al ontvang he by 'n hotel), kos is goed geprys en waarde vir geld. Vir R1220.00 per nag was dit die moeite werd, maar ek sal nie weer daar bly nie.

The place is a bit dated for the rate paid.

The facility needs to be upgraded. The rate is too high for the facility. The dinner and breakfast was great. 10 out of 10 for the restaurant staff.

Goedkoop met goedkoop diens.

Ek en 'n Switserse vriend het 2 kamers bespreek. Geen druk in sy stort of wasbak. As ek probeer stort, sukkel ek om die temperatuur reg te kry wat nooit gebeur nie. Toe verkies om te bad wat baie lekker was, om net te ontdek dat dit lek en ek uitklim om in 'n dam water te trap. Ek moes die toiletdeur permanent toe hou om die geraas van die toilet te blok wat nie wou ophou loop nie. ('n Gemors van water!). 'n Bluetooth speaker het verdwyn uit my sak. Klag gelê en jawat, wie sal dan nou erken as daar geen bewyse is. Geen kameras. Daarna besluit om self my kamer skoon te maak, want wou nie elke dag reis met my sak nie.

Diens en kos was uitstekend, kamer was netjies en baie skoon.

Gaste het verskriklik geraas reg deur die nag, dit was net baie steurend tot drie uur in die oggend ure.

The Sundown Ranch Hotel is very neat and good value for your money. The service was very good and the room was neat. Our stay was short, but we will be going there again shortly.

Good: The food was amazing! Peace of mind, staff is friendly, service is excellent and the fact that you have security guards around made us feel safe. The place is in close proximity with SunCity, that is good. Bad: You do not have fridges, to store our cold beverages as well as food that would be left over as you can imagine the place is hot during the day. The fact that cars are parked outside and not in the shade is very bad. The furniture, though old which we appreciate, but it needs to be comfortable as well. Improve: Please have tents for the cars. Consider having bar fridges as that will make the guests more happier.

We really enjoyed our holiday at Sundown Ranch Hotel & Sport School.

Although the hotel needs some renovation because the building is getting old, we really enjoyed our holiday. The hotel is close to Sun City. Food was superb, the staff is very friendly and most of all the booking was very easy and quickly.

The food was excellent, but the rest was not great.

The TV did not work and the toilet made a noise, also when other people turned on their taps, there as a screeching noise which was very disruptive, especially when you are trying to sleep.

The hotel is easy to access and very close to Sun City.

The hotel aircons were not working in some of the rooms that we booked, and the temperature ranged between 36 - 40 °C. We had to open windows the whole night. We had no control over the aircons. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and the rooms were cleaned daily. The first dinner was a disaster, the chicken was raw, so the chicken and prawn curry was a disaster and we did not eat the food. On the third dinner we waited for 45 min without getting a starter, after which we decided to take the food as take aways. I had included the dinner in my booking which amounts to +-R190 per person and at the dinner I was told that I could only use it for food and not drinks. The next day I cancelled the dinner and demanded monies back, after a long fight with the manager the money was refunded and I had an option of buying dinner at the hotel or getting it somewhere else. Breakfast was excellent for the duration of my stay. The food was nicely prepared and I could eat and drink without any extras expected to be paid from me. The furniture is very old: torn chairs and the bed made a funny noise, old mattresses which were not so comfortable. The swimming pool was well maintained daily, the kids could spend time playing. Beautiful setup around the pool and bar area. The garden is clean and the staff are friendly. General comment: don't stay at the hotel for too long, only book B&B. The hotel is situated very close to Sun City and has easy access to the main road.

The bathrooms were moldy and food was served cold.

Looks like there were no guests for a long time.

The roof of the room we slept in was licking and apparently there's nothing they can do about it. We got one room with 3 beds for 3 adults and 2 kids. Who does that really!

Definitief nie 4-ster nie - die ligging is die enigste pluspunt en ja dis skoon, maar vir R1600 per nag is die plek afgeleef en oud. Sal dit nie aanbeveel nie. Die kontroles van die lugversorging en TV het nie gewerk nie. Die badkamer is oud en toilet wat lek. Die vrae wat julle vra wat die "rating" bepaal is nie akkuraat nie.

A very quiet and peaceful place to spend a relaxing holiday at, a place I would not hesitate to revisit.

We found it very welcoming and even made special arrangements to reserve dinner for us, as we were arriving around 10pm. The place is very peaceful, where one can relax, read and go for morning or evening walks.

Ek het hier oornag tydens my seun se kriekettoer (by die sportskool), die oornaggeriewe was netjies, en ek beveel beslis die restaurant aan vir ontbyt en aandete.

Wonderful staff members

My wife and I had a wonderful stay. Staff members very friendly and professional. Just few things to bring to management's attention.we checked in at 16:00 but the room was given to us had a smoky smell lingering in it. We noticed couple of spiders by the main passage which is an indication of lack of pest control. Other than that the service was superb and the booking was very easy to make.

Nice, peaceful hotel, but needs renovation.

The hotel is affordable, the food is great but it needs a new menu. Renovation is needed, they also need more swimming pools, but the service is excellent. The rooms are big, but the TV and bathrooms need renovating.

Mixed reaction.

The staff was friendly. The service during dinner was bad. I also think you need to put a board (with lights) that is visible for people to see from the highway especially at night. It is easier to miss the hotel when you are driving. This was the case when I slept there few years back and no improvement.

Ons was vir 'n naweek by Sundown Ranch en dit was 'n gemengde ervaring. Die positiewe: Die kamer was skoon en gerieflik. Die hotel is ook baie skoon en tuin goed versorg by die swembad area. Ontvangs het seker gemaak ons waentjie met produksie dekor is veilig vir die naweek en uit hul pad gegaan om ons gerus te stel dat dit opgepas sal word. Die restaurant kos se kwaliteit is goed genoeg met 'n aanvaarbare verskeidenheid. Daar is 'n kroeg met grootskerm om sport te kyk. Daar is 'n groot swembad vir die kinders. Maar, die negatiewe: Op die eerste aand moes ek 3 keer ontvangs bel om dinge soos die TV afstandbeheerder, genoeg handdoeke en koffie uit te sorteer. Op die tweede dag het ek dit maar net gelos - daar word nie baie aandag aan basiese detail gegee nie. Die hotel is oud en meubels ens. het aandag nodig. Die TV kanale is beperk, veral as jy kinders het. As dit koud is en die kinders kan nie swem nie, is daar ook nie iets anders vir hulle om te doen nie. Geen klimrame of ander speelplek nie. Ontvangs het vir ons gesê dat ons nie die tennis/netbalbane mag gebruik nie, want dit is vir die skoolgroepe. Algemeen: As jy naby Sun City wil oornag, maar nie baie tyd by die hotel gaan wees nie, dan is Sundown Ranch seker nie 'n slegte keuse nie. Wees net matig met jou verwagtinge en jy sal tevrede wees.

Diens by ontvangs is swak.

Daar was ook geen water in die kamers nie. Die gange is vuil. Die kamers was onnet en linne was oud en geskeur. Kamers is baie verouderd. Daar was geen warm water toe die water wel herstel is nie. Ontbyt was teleurstellend.

Alles was baie skoon en netjies en die plek het ons almal aangenaam verras met sy skoon kamers, lekker kos en vriendelikheid.

Ons doelwit was maklike naby verblyf aan Sun City en hierdie het perfek gewerk!

Will stay there again.

The bar at the poolside could need some attention. We had to put chairs and table together to sit there. Dinner and breakfast...very nice, lovely atmosphere.

Ons het baie lekker gebly. Ons het kliënte van Amerika hier gehad en hulle het dit baie geniet. Sal weer by julle kom oorslaap!

Great value for money

Friendly and helpful staff, great value for your money and ideal location for your visit to Sun city or the Pilansberg Game Reserve. Booking process also needs to be complimented. Facility needs a little but of renovation but otherwise clean and functional.

Overall everything is good here. Friendly staff and the hotel was clean. Just think they must work faster in the restaurants on the cooking and serving of foods as we waited too long our food to arrive.

Reasonable priced and very close to Sun City - Will stay again

Had a very nice stay, food was lovely. We love to go to Sun City and this is very close - 10 km. We stayed in a family room, only two things we didn't like - air-con was squeaking and the shower head was not flowing to full capacity. Must add we only slept there, during the days we were out. We got a 70's feeling of the hotel - if you are the modern guy this will definitely be something to adapt to.

Good - A truly great experience.

Experience was good. However, even though its a 3 star by TGCSA, the layout isn't fantastic - but the atmosphere and hospitality was super! The food was divine and that to us is the most important thing.

Good hotel but in desperate need of renovations

The hotel staff are very friendly and the room and hotel it is kept clean but the building needs renovations and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Proximity to Sun City & other attractions is great and it was easy to find but they really need to renovate or at least get new beds. I wouldn't recommend it to friends because there are other hotels on the same road that are most probably more modern with better facilities at the same price.

You get what you pay for.

Basically, for a value for money sleep over, it is fine. Breakfast was great. However, there is an underlying smell which gives the feeling of the hotel being dirty - but admittedly it was clean. Think it's just that the hotel is getting old.

Welcome very good, food very good, rooms clean but smelled of smoke, and the bathrooms to me felt old and not very clean.
