Tankwa River Lodge offers lovely self-catering holiday accommodation in a 250-year-old homestead located on a farm 70 km from Sutherland in the Tankwa Karoo. This unique and tastefully designed property could be a great option for a family getaway as an inviting swimming pool is available for guests to cool off.

This vintage-styled property can accommodate a total of 12 guests at a time and comprises 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The main suite is furnished with a king-size bed and features an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and an en-suite shower, while the third and fourth bedrooms each contain 2 single beds and include an en-suite shower. The remaining 2 bedrooms each have a queen-size bed and share the fifth bathroom fitted with a bath and a shower.

The spacious living area features a kitchen fully equipped with a gas stove, gas oven, fridge, freezer, cutlery and crockery as well as tea- and coffee-making facilities. The lounge has comfy seating where guests can relax with a book. This area also has a dining table where guests can enjoy their meals together and a smaller dining table in the kitchen in front of the indoor braai. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the home.

Outside there is a spacious and sunny patio with outdoor seating, braai facilities and an inviting swimming pool for guests to enjoy on those hot summer days. Also on offer on the farm are 4x4 routes, mountain biking routes as well as nature drives. The Tankwa National Park is also just a short distance away.
