Thabamati Luxury Tented Camp offers small, intimate tented accommodation within the world-renowned Timbavati Private Game Reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park, and from underneath canvas canopies, guests have views of the dam below and bushveld beyond.
Thabamati offers guests a choice of Java safari-style tents near the dam, and can be made up with twin beds or king-size beds and mosquito nets. Each of the tents has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a bath, and a toilet, as well as an outdoor shower. The tents are all equipped with writing desks, unlimited Wi-Fi, tea and coffee as well as bottled water, and a private lounge area.
The camp’s main area comprises the dining area, a lounge, a bar, a curio shop, and a library corner. Guests can cool down in the infinity pool, view the animals from the viewing deck, or sit in the sunken boma and view the stars.
Guests can partake in a guided sundowner game-drive, a morning and afternoon/early evening game drives, or a morning bushwalk to view the wide variety of game, insect and plant life, and bird species in the area. At night, bush babies, genets, civets, porcupines, and African wild cats may also make an appearance.
