Great location.

Wonderful views. Good space and a house with lots of potential. However it needs a lot of maintenance to: the entrance way; bathrooms and toilets; mould in showers; refrigerator; kitchen cupboards; swimming pool tiles; leaking appliances. On arrival after a long trip from Johannesburg, we could only check in after 5pm. The snag list was 6 - 8 items long and included things like malfunctioning electrical sockets and lights - broken toilet paper holders - broken kitchen drawers - no gas to cook (despite 2, 48 kg gas cylinders installed); and malfunctioning shutters and blinds. There were insufficient towels for the number of guests and we had to supplement with old beach towels. The cleaning on the 2nd was less than mediocre - despite us paying double for the day. The linen provided did not fit the beds.

Before we booked we specifically asked if the lack of maintenance had been addressed as mentioned in another review and we were told by the owner that it had all been corrected. This was false.

1. The front door was a piece of plywood that we were unable to use. 2. The washer was not working (although they did offer a one-time laundry service to make up for it). 3. There are water-damage stains throughout and it's hard to tell if any of it is mold. 4. The electrical is a disaster. Lights turn on at all hours of the night, some are flickering constantly and some don't work at all. One bedroom did not have electricity, and they came to fix it but then 2 others didn't. The laundry room never had a working light. 5. The fireplaces (primary bedroom and family room) shown in the pictures do not work. 6. The pictures show TV's mounted at an angle from the ceiling, these do not exist in this house. 7. For R10k a night I expected a well-kept home. Well-kept is not what we got and the fact that we specifically asked and were lied to is what made this so unacceptable to me.
