Awesome stay and would definitely come back.

Excellent, excellent. Everything about the estate and the house was just beautiful. The house would be even better if there was a swimming pool.

Our little slice of paradise.

Words cannot ever explain how much we enjoyed our stay. If you could bottle a feeling, I would keep the feeling we had when we opened the door. A magical experience to say the least.

Pragtige verblyf in die mooi Highland Gate.

Die huis is perfek geleë in die mooi Highland Gate met pragtige uitsigte en ’n heerlike sonnige stoep wat ons goed gebruik het teen die koue! Alhoewel die hoofvertrek se vensters wel kan doen met ‘n gordyn of blinder vir insulasie en beskutting saans, was die huis heerlik warm deur die dag as gevolg daarvan. Die kombuis kort ’n paar basiese toebehore vir die gevorderde kok soos ’n oondkastrol, serveer bakke, stamper, sout, peper en olyfolie. Vir die gevraagde prys voel ek dié basiese benodighede kon beskikbaar gewees het en daarom die 4 sterre vir waarde van geld. Bring dus jou eie kookware as jy lekker uitgebreid wil kook. Aan die ander kant is die braai geriewe uitgebreid met net die uitsondering van ’n rooster vir boerewors wat nie te vinde was nie. Die huis is ruim maar nie te groot nie en die en-suite badkamers in elke slaapkamer is baie gerieflik. Hangplek het wel in die kamers tekort gekom. Die wonderlike en genoegsame hout wat verskaf was vir die kaggel was hoogs waardeer. Die staproetes in die estate is werklik spesiaal en die vriendelikheid van die personeel oral was oormatig en verwelkomend. Dit is 'n golfer se paradys; die baan is onberispelik. Ons het oor die algemeen ’n heerlik verblyf gehad en hoop om weer te kom kuier, baie dankie.

Beautiful accommodation in the beautiful Highland Gate.

The house is perfectly located in the beautiful Highland Gate with beautiful views and a lovely sunny veranda which we used well against the cold! Although the main room's windows could do with a curtain or blind for insulation and shelter at night, the house was wonderfully warm during the day as a result. The kitchen lacks some basic accessories for the advanced cook such as an oven casserole, serving bowls, pestle, salt, pepper and olive oil. For the asking price I feel these basic necessities could have been available and therefore the 4 stars for value for money. So bring your own cookware if you want to cook well and extensively. On the other hand, the braai facilities have been expanded with the only exception of a grill for boerewors, which was not to be found. The house is spacious but not too big and the en-suite bathrooms in each bedroom are very comfortable. There was a lack of hanging space in the rooms. The wonderful and ample wood provided for the fireplace was greatly appreciated. The walking trails in the estate are truly special and the friendliness of the staff everywhere was excessive and welcoming. It is a golfer's paradise; the course is impeccable. Overall we had a lovely stay and hope to visit again, thank you very much.

A lovely peaceful stay with a great view.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Big Easy Rest, it was clean, and picturesque and had most of the items required for a lovely self-catering stay. The house is lovely and warm at night and all the sliding doors provide lots of natural light and the opportunity to take in the great view.
