Great! Fantastic overnight stay. The scenery getting to the farm is spectacular. Pete is a wonderful, friendly host. He helped us with our luggage to the cottage and explained its quirks. Well equipped with everything we needed. Having an open plan room with a fireplace was perfect for a cold winter's night. We built a huge fire to keep us warm whilst sipping on excellent sherry and playing a couple of games of Scrabble. The winner was the winter sheets and a lovely hot shower! We will be back to experience summer as the setting is magical and very private. We have suggested a small table in the bathroom for the vanity bag. Other than that, the place has everything you need for your stay. Pete offered wood at R40 a bundle. Not accessible for mobility-impaired guests. One needs to cross a small suspension bridge plus climb about 20 steep steps.

Cozy, beautiful and to be recommended. Stunning! Everything you need is there. Peter was there to meet us and was very friendly. Bit of a walk with your luggage up to the room, but well worth it! Love the atmosphere! Cozy on a winter's night with the indoor braai.

Everything you need to unwind and reconnect with nature and each other. What a magical place with wonderful farm dog Chunky to keep us company. The house is perfect and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We were also lucky to spot a little leopard tortoise at the bottom of the stairs and many malachite sunbirds flitted about. We stayed only one night but we need some more time there and will definitely go back.

Out of this world. I don't even know where to begin with this review. As many have mentioned, Chunky (not a fluffy Labrador as the name would suggest) was the star of the show, followed closely by a spectacular bush getaway in the hills of Calitzdorp. Chunky spent the entire stay with us and was even on guard duty at times with the wildlife. Peter has provided an affordable stay that is at the top of my list of "do again". The isolation, the quietness, and being surrounded by nature was the getaway that we had been craving. His attention to design to bring all the outside elements into the house was appreciated numerous times. While the road to the house is dirt, any car can make it, so don't worry about that. I would highly recommend it if you need to escape the hustle and bustle of life or even if you just need to gather yourself and relax. Peter also has a gorgeous gallery and stunning house and has many interesting things to talk about. Overall, I can't recommend enough. Go and stay there, you won't be disappointed.
