The perfect place to unwind.

Our hosts went out of their way to accommodate us through loadshedding, complete power outages, which resulted in no water. We were refunded 2 nights of our stay which was extremely generous as the above was out of their control. The best part of our stay was the tranquility much needed by two tired people! And our little dog had the time of her life!

Welcoming, value for money.

The owner and staff are friendly and excellent, and we felt very welcome. The games room and pool facilities were great, and our pets loved it. The beach is only a short walk away with easy access.

Nicely located, good service, but poor security.

The place is located in a good area, the service was excellent but the rooms are not very clean, need more mats and air freshener. Security is very poor, someone tried to open our door around 04:40 hrs. So we were not so pleased with Security.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property, it is greatly appreciated.

We are aware of the problems with the cellphone reception, unfortunately we have been struggling with Vodacom for more than a year now and recently with MTN. We've notified Vodacom on several occasions and have also installed a booster at our cost but as we are not Vodacom clients they are not reacting to our requests. According to town-talk the Vodacom tower has been in dire need of maintenance for more than 2 years, and they keep telling their paying clients that they did not have the budget in 2016/17 to do the necessary repairs. We are hoping that 2018 brings some better results.

MTN has had poor signal for the past few weeks and this has been reported to them and waiting for them to respond on what is causing the poor coverage. Hopefully as MTN clients we will have better results with regards to this service especially since we are all on MTN contracts and it is almost impossible to get hold of staff when required.

We do have Wi-Fi at the lodge however, it is restricted to the main entertainment/reception area only. Guests should be informed of this on arrival, I have spoken to Elize and requested she ensure everyone is notified. We are also looking into a system of getting our Telkom Wi-Fi to the individual units as we are aware of the inconvenience this causes our guests especially those that need to be contactable by their businesses even when on holiday.

Hopefully we'll see you back at the Crab again in the near future, and that we have resolved the cellphone issues but unfortunately this is completely outside of our control.

I would definitely recommend this establishment due to its friendly staff.

The Merry Crab is a tranquil and beautiful establishment situated by the beach side. The staff are very friendly and always available to assist. We did have a problem during check-in and had to wait an hour before the room was ready. However the customer service we received was excellent and made up for the little hiccup.
