The Old Foundry Hotel

Absolutely lovely.

I stay was very nice, clean and trendy. We love the feel of the hotel; the people are very friendly and we felt quite young with everyone on their laptops and the kind of business environment. It felt like we were in a foreign country, but yet we were local South Africans.

A wonderful stay, looking forward to a return trip.

Baie lekker en rustig.

Baie lekker gebly, die hele plekkie het net so 'n wonderlike vibe. Die dekor is iets om te beleef. Die koffie was die beste in die hele waterkant. Werkers is so vriendelik.

The place is beautiful. The decor stands apart. The bed was comfortable. The cleaners were not doing a good job. They gave me used towels. They didn't replenish the water in the fridge. Some of the staff were not very friendly. I had to sleep with dirty dishes in my room because that was for room service.

Vriendelik verwelkom, die hotel in asemrowend! Dit lyk net soos die webblad. Dit was rustig, ons kon lekker slaap. Ontbyt was uit die boeke, ek kan nie wag om terug te gaan nie.

Luukse wegbreek in die hartjie van Kaapstad.

Netjiese verblyf wat baie goed geleë is met goeie diens en gasvryheid. Sal dit vir enigiemand aanbeveel.

Lovely and tranquil.

It was a lovely and tranquil hotel to spend the night at. The location was perfect: so close to everything (the stadium, the waterfront, Greenpoint restaurants, etc.). Would have been nice if breakfast was included in the package, but really nothing to complain about. The bath inside the room was a pleasant surprise.

Beautiful hotel close to the waterfront and city.

Beautiful concept - loved the architecture and interior style with books and business room locations. The location to the waterfront was great as well. Staff were very welcoming and kind. Will stay again for sure!

Hotel with a soul.

Loved the old-worldly character combined with high-tech work environment and friendly staff. Made us feel at home. Not just another hotel room but a place with a soul.

We loved the character of the hotel, and the rooms were spacious despite being described as small. It is quirky, which we liked. The staff were friendly. The creaking plumbing may disturb some people, but we didn't mind.

Goed genoeg vir net slaap.

Met inloopslag en inboeking, was daar 'n dispuut oor betaling wat hulle nie op die stelsel gehad het nie, maar was vol betaal aan my kant. Dit het my in 'n baie slegte lig geplaas / verleentheid en ek het dadelik op my foon bewyse begin soek, en hoe meer mens soek hoe minder kry jy dit en jy begin al hoe meer kwaad raak. Na omtrent 'n halfuur se gesoek kon ek wys op Nedbank state wat ek moes aflaai, dat daar wel 'n volle betaling was in Julie vir die Vrydag aand, aangesien hulle net die Saterdagaand se bewys gehad het wat reeds in April en einde middel Oktober betaal was. Medium na koue storte is nie na wense gewees nie. Vrydagaand was medium na koel stort en Saterdagaand baie koud. Flikkerende ligte in kamer - ons kon glad nie hoofligte aanskakel nie, want hulle het konstant geflikker en die helfte van die globes het nie gewerk nie. Klein kokkerotte orals wat ons konstant moes doodtrap. Gordynrails se stoppers is af so as jy gordyn te ver oop trek, val hele gordyn uit. Geen Live TV nie, net Netflix en YouTube. Teenoor ons mede vriende, het ons die beste kamer gehad dink ek, geen handdoek issues, of krane wat afkom of wasbakke wat lek ens. nie.

Ek het reeds terugvoer gegee op die ander datum wat ons gebly het. Ons het Vrydag en Saterdag apart geboek, so kyk na die ander dag se terugvoer.

Die hotel gee old school vibes. Oulike meubels en dekor.

Die ligging was goed. Daar het nie melk in die kamer gekom nie. Moes twee keer vra. Die prys is effens hoog vir wat jy kry.

Good. Great ambience and location.

It was an okay stay; there was an annoying light in my room that could not be switched off no matter what, which was a downer.

Niks lekker aan die plek nie.

Die verblyf was ongelooflik duur vir 'n piepklein kamer. Die voorstellings laat die kamer baie groter vertoon as wat dit werklik is. Met aankoms was die personeel nie baie lus om ons te help nie; om ons bagasie (1 tas op wiele) op te neem na die kamer was moeite vir die persoon. Ons het 2 aande gebly en het slegs die eerste aand ordentlike warm water gehad. Daar was ook 'n lig dood in die badkamer reg bo die spieel wat dit baie donker gemaak het. Sal nie weer daar bespreek nie en is baie teleurgesteld.

Good central stay, and a clean place but the front desk staff was pretty rude.

Based on the Google Reviews, there's a serious problem with the conduct of the front desk staff. I don't think that a receptionist needs to be told to switch off whatever they're watching on their cell phones when checking in guests. It didn't seem to bother him. Secondly, if there is an issue with the amounts paid to you and the hotel, don't make it the guest's issue especially when it's as low as R59 and then harping on about how you keep quoting incorrect amounts. This is not the guest's issue and doesn't need to be brought up even though we would have been happy to pay the difference if there was an issue. Thirdly, based on my communication with the hotel, if there's an agreement that we can check in earlier, don't tell guests that you don't know where you heard that and make a big deal out of it because we were 30 minutes early. To top it off, refusing eye contact and greeting when leaving or entering is not on. It doesn't look like this line of work is for him. The rest of the accommodation was decent. Signs of wear everywhere but nothing bothersome.

Quirky, fun, but too impractical for a stay longer than a night or two.

Hubby and I enjoyed the hotel's quirkiness and it was funky and fun. Sadly, the actual hotel room is not practical, especially for a stay longer than two nights. The room itself was spacious, no problem there. However, the bathroom is just too impractical and has a far too open view for our liking. A little bit of frosting would go a long way. The bathroom was very cramped and the layout was not great, with nowhere to really place towels. The shower was more than adequate in size, however, the floor was exceptionally slippery and there was quite a step-down out of the shower, so both of us almost fell a few times. And yes, the first room we were in came with a complimentary cockroach. Not to mention 1 towel, no shampoo, and no milk. Thankfully, the staff are lovely and swapped rooms and sorted that out quickly. However, we had no milk again on the very next day. The noise from outside the hotel is just a complete racket, and this is at 6am on a weekend morning. This is not the hotel for you if you want a peaceful and restful stay. Again, the hotel itself is really fun and quite lovely, and in a great position, just the bathrooms are a letdown and the noise from outside is unbearable. Thank you to the staff who were so accommodating and lovely, they really saved the day by changing our room quickly.

Skokkend!

Kamer met swart mure, vloere en dekor, klein vensters, met min lig. Louwarm stortwater in die Kaapse winter. Een japon, een koppie en een handdoek in 'n kamer bespreek vir twee. Stukkende meubels en 'n gekraakte spieël. Die een handdoek was vol gate en so deurgewas dat dit nie meer kan afdroog nie. Ons het gaan vra vir nog handdoeke by ontvangs en is belowe hulle sal dit kamer toe bring. Dit het nooit gebeur nie. By verre die swakste akkommodasie ooit in Kaapstad, en duur - veral vir wat ons gekry het.

Amazing.

I just loved the fact that is so central we we actually close to everything. We walked to V&A Waterfront and Long Street.

Ligging is uitstekend en personeel is uitmuntend.

Ontvangspersoneel was baie vriendelik, het meer gedoen as werksomskrywing. My man is verras met kaaskoek vir sy verjaarsdag.

Sal nie weer besoek nie.

Van die goed wat in die kamer gepla het: oop badkamer, het nie op foto's as sulks voorgekom nie. Deursigtige gordyn by venster wat op straat uitkyk. Geen kragprop in bereik van ketel/koffiemasjien nie. Koffiemasjien buite werking. Geen melk beskikbaar nie. Kruipende insekte om die koffiemaakgeriewe en op lessenaar. Dit het ook onveilig gevoel by die parkeerarea.

Baie geniet.

Old Foundry Hotel personeel baie vriendelik en behulpsaam. Sal weer daar bly sonder twyfel!

Was lekker gewees. Aircon het nie gewerk nie. Drein was verstop. Het gevra vir fan. Nooit gekry nie.

Anders as dit was als lekker.
