Absolute paradise.

We had a wonderful stay. The most beautiful spot. The host and farm manager were both very helpful.

The Pines is a lovely cottage in the most beautiful setting. The cottage is well equipped with everything that one might want or need. I cannot recommend it enough.

'n Heerlike plek om te kom rus.

Ons het 10 dae bespreek en dit was absoluut heerlik. Die omgewing is pragtig, selfs in die winter. Die kothuis is baie goed toegerus en die bestuurder het elke dag 'n draai kom maak om seker te maak ons het alles wat nodig was. Alhoewel dit Julie was, was die kothuis heerlik warm en die kaggel was baie effektief. Alhoewel ons gewaarsku is oor die pad, het ons 'n alternatiewe aanbevole roete gevolg vanaf Nottingham Road wat ongeveer 25 km grondpad was, maar die pad was goed en die omgewing baie mooi. As jy sielsrus soek, is dit definitief die plek om na toe te kom.

The cottage has everything you may need and was well equipped for the cold weather. Note the central area for the groundsmen and housekeepers is situated next door to the cottage.

Peaceful bliss and comfort.

We had a wonderfully peaceful stay at The Pines at Dondini Trout Farm. If you want to get away from city noise, this is the place to unwind in peace and quiet. The cottage was well-equipped, comfortable and absolutely charming. We look forward to a return visit.

Breathtaking & comfort.

Our stay was in a well-equipped and cosy wooden cottage surrounded by picture-perfect scenery of mountains and natural beauty. The host/owner was very helpful and accommodating to our every need. Perfect place for a relaxation breakaway! We will definitely be back!

Awesome location, quiet setting, and well-kept.

Absolutely excellent, hardest part is always leaving.

Accommodation was excellent. Owner is extremely accommodating and friendly. Everything I needed to know was well conveyed and arranged ahead of my stay. The cottage itself is stunning, the deck overlooking the dam makes for beautiful sunrises and afternoon sundowners. Very difficult to find a better value for money cottage in one of my favourite valleys. Already looking forward to the next visit.

The Pines delivered exactly what was advertised.

Peaceful and tranquil. The accommodation was well-equipped and clean. One of the most comfortable stays we have experienced. Fishing was great and the dams were well stocked. We will not hesitate to book a return visit.

Beautiful escape.

We will definitely be back to stay at The Pines at Dondini Trout Farm. If you are looking for a place to just be quiet, read a book, enjoy the beautiful views and do a bit of fly fishing, this is the place to visit. The last stretch of road is not great, but worth the trip.

Die eenheid was baie netjies en die kombuis was toegerus met alles wat nodig was vir ons verblyf. Dit was baie stil en rustig so ons het heerlik ontspan.

Daar is 'n gasstoof so met beurtkrag kan jy nogsteeds water kook vir koffie en kosmaak. MTN se sein was baie wisselvalig, maar ons het nie dieselfde ondervind met Vodacom nie.

Fantastic in every way.

The only downside to our stay is the road to the venue has potholes and is run down.

Ons was lus vir n ontspannende wegbreek in 'n mooi omgewing met geleentheid om in die berge te stap en Dondini het aan elke behoefte voldoen.

Pragtige omgewing. Goed toegeruste kothuis met alles wat jy nodig het om gerieflik te ontspan. Baie smaakvol gedekoreer en gehaltetoebehore. My eneigste "kritiek" is dat die kothuis koud is, want dit kry baie min son in die winter, maar daar is 'n kaggel en voldoende vuurmaakhout en extra olieverwarmers. Die teerpad is erg beskadig met slaggate vanaf Rosetta tot by die plaas, maar as jy dit rustig vat en stadig ry is dit ten volle die moeite werd.

Waarlik 'n huis weg van my huis af. My kinders het dit ook baie geniet en albei is nog onder 10 jaar oud.

Selfs die slegte pad het sy voordele. As mens van die Vrystaat af kom is die pad nog mooi, al die gate is gevul. Ons het verskriklik baie voëls op die pad gesien: kuifkoparend, mahems, bloukransvoëls, kransaasvoël (selfs een by dam gesien by huisie). Was waarlik 'n wonderlik ervaring om daar te bly.

Well-appointed, great location, definitely will be back.

Comfy accom, peaceful and scenic.

Needed a place to stay whilst fishing in the area. This was perfect. Very well priced and comfortable. Lots of firewood for those chilly nights. Scenic outlook onto dams.

So close to the garden of Eden you will not find. Absolutely nothing wrong. Just all perfectness.

Beautiful setting, a clean, spacious cottage with everything that you need. Trout dams are kept neat and clean. A wonderful, relaxing week. would love to visit again!

Beautiful, safe, clean, and tranquil.

On arrival the host was very helpful. The home was clean and had all we needed to enjoy some time away from the hub and buzz of city life. Will definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a place to relax or even enjoy some trout fishing.

Beautiful landscape and peaceful.

The farm is beautiful and quiet, good for birding and wildlife, Black-crested eagles and jackals were our highlight. The unit is beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The house is well stocked with everything you might need. Being there in July, it was very cold in the evenings and mornings but the fireplace and other heaters helped a lot. There was limited cell phone reception, were able to make and receive calls, but no internet (no connection to WhatsApp, telegram or email), which I didn't mind though, it was good to disconnect. The only "not so nice" was the foam mattresses in the second bedroom, which weren't too comfortable. The roads getting there were very bad, a lot of potholes, looked more like Swiss cheese. I wouldn't recommend travelling on the road in the dark so please get there before dark.

The flat was well equipped, so clean and comfortable. The location is so peaceful and serene, the perfect getaway.

Dit was 'n baie lekker plek om te rus en terug in die natuur te wees. Almal was baie hulpsaam en die familie het dit baie geniet.

Only thing I can say is we are already planning our next trip back to Dondini, this time we are bringing 2 family members of ours, Sue-Haley, thank you so much for such a beautiful place. Dondini is home away from home.

A relaxing family break close to the mountains and with two stunning dams on your doorstep.

A lovely family cottage. Spacious, modern and with great access to the dams and river. Relaxed family atmosphere and great service. Definately a place to come back to, and to recommend to friends.

Absolute gem.

We had an amazing stay in this beautiful well-equipped cottage. From well before we arived Sue was an excellent host. Making sure we have all info available before we arrive and also checking in to ensure we are settled and comfortable. We even got lovely toasty bites to enjoy with our morning coffees. Attie, the farm manager, was very pleasant and helpful. We loved chatting with him. The fireplace and the oil heaters made our evenings so comfortable. The Pines is close to both Highmoor and Kamberg Nature Reserves, which both have lovely easy day walks. Even for slightly younger kids. There is also lots of space for the kids to play outside and they even have a rowboat for everyone to use on the dam. And what stunning views. Even with the colder rainy weather, we had our first few days we enjoyed our stay tremendously as there are many board games, puzzles, playing cards and books. We would be back in a heartbeat.

Rus, rus en nog rus.

Ons reis nogal gereeld en ek kan met eerlikheid sê The Pines was een van die lekkerste plekkies wat ons nog in gebly het. Vir 'n paar redes: die plek en area is pragtig, die huisie is met soveel smaak gemeubileer, uiters goed toegerus met als wat jy aan kan dink, stil en rustig sodat 'n mens regtig kan afskakel. Die eienaars het vooraf gesorg dat ons alles weet wat nodig is om te weet. Iets wat eienaars nogal min doen so ek het dit baie waardeer. Dit was 'n wonderlike belewenis wat ons vir enige een kan aanbeveel.

Al ons verwagtinge oortref!

Ons Psalm 23 naweek, na waters waar rus is lei Hy my heen. Die mees onvergeetlike naweek ooit, omring deur berge, natuurskoon en 'n pragtige foreldam reg voor die huis. Ons kan nie wag vir die volgende keer nie.

Crystal clear dams and tidy gardens. Very well kitted out kitchen, everything you could need. Wonderful fireplace, board games and plenty of blankets for cold winter nights. Attie, the farm manager, was very friendly, chatty and informative. Only negative is the main district road from Rosetta is very potholed, but this wouldn't put me off coming back.
