The Tin Shack

Loved it.

Peace and quiet, but the toilet leaked and it would have been nice to know when load shedding was.

Peaceful, cosy, awesome bass fishing, convenient to town.

The Tin Shack is nice and cosy, kitted out with the things you need, including a lovely fireplace, books, and games. The views are spectacular. The bass fishing was so much fun! Friendly dogs and our guard goose. The bird watching was amazing. On the tarred road and not far from town, we really enjoyed the peace and beauty!

It's aged and needs some upkeep, especially the deck is caving in and there is no handrail on the steps.

Wegbreek vir stilte en rus.

As opsie vir 'n onbeplande wegbreek na KZN was Tin Shack die ideale plek vir afskakel en rus in 'n pragtige omgewing. Die gasvrou was altyd beskikbaar sonder om te pla. Die "plaasgevoel" was vir ons 'n seën.

Pragtige knus huisie. Baie privaat. Rustige atmosfeer.

Die kaggel in die sitkamertjie is baie aangenaam. Uitsig oor die dam is pragtig. Bloukraanvoëls het kom besoek aflê.

Glad nie wat ons verwag het nie.

Die eienaar het die sleutel onder die matjie gelos en haar nie kom voorstel nie, alhoewel sy met ons per Whatsapp gekommunikeer het. Toe ons instap by die Tin Shack het dit binne-in na suur melk geruik. Die huisie se hout in binnekant is redelik vrot, die dak hang en hy lek ook. Die badkamer was redelik nice. Die koue het deur die vloer geslaan en ons moes ons eie duvet gaan haal want ons het vreeslik koud gekry. Ek en my man is gereeld in die berge en slaap in grotte of tente so ons is glad nie vol fiemies nie. Dié is net nie ons idee van rustic nie. Rustic moet steeds netjies en higiënies wees, dis nie 'n verskoning om goed so te laat lyk nie. Die eienaar het gesê: "The Tin Shack is rustic, but not everyones cup of tea." Dalk is dit net nie ons cup of tea nie.

Geen verwelkoming gekry en baie onnet.

Toe ons daar kom het ons geen verwelkoming ontvang nie, net 'n boodskap wat se die sleutel is onder die mat by die deur. Die plek is baie onnet en kort baie aandag. Banke in sitkamer is vuil en vol vlekke. Was veronderstel om 2 nagte daar te bly maar het dadelik ander verblyf gesoek vir 2de nag.

Absolutely amazing.

Cosy little cottage far away from everything. Farm animals came to visit often, and the hosts were fantastic and very welcoming. We'll be seeing you again.

The Tin Shack was absolutely wonderful.

The tin shack was wonderful, nice and secluded, very private and comfortable which is exactly what we wanted. Sophie was a lovely hostess and very friendly and helpful.

I will return!

A beautiful, quiet farm where you can find rest and peace, and if you need, quiet time with God. Bass fishing - lekker! I will return to the Tin Shack. I loved it!

Wonderful accommodation.

Stayed at the Tin Shack for a friend's wedding. Beautiful place and very helpful when our GPS got us lost. Would definitely stay there again!

A very charming rustic house overlooking a dam with gorgeous bird life to admire from your bedroom.

Great value for money. We absolutely loved this charming and artistically created shack home. So unique and peaceful overlooking a lovely dam and majestic mountains in the foreground. The owner was incredibly accommodating and friendly although cell phone reception is not great in the area. Although the dam levels were low as evident throughout KZN, the waters were still teaming with birdlife and we enjoyed taking photos in the golden hours of the evening.
