Dana Bay is situated in the Cape Floral Kingdom, and as a conservancy, a variety of steenbok, bushbuck, Cape francolins and mongooses roam freely in the town. The area is also home to a variety of birdlife, as well as a variety of fynbos, and dolphins and Southern Right Whales can be seen in whale-watching season. Activities in the area include walking, hiking, and water sports.
